A judge granted sole legal custody to Laurie Snell, the estranged wife of Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania Sean Parnell, after a bitter custody battle in which Snell accused him of assaulting both her and their children.
âTPM asked Ronna Romney McDaniel, chair of the Republican National Committee, whether the crop of accused candidates hurts the partyâs standing late last week.â
The answer provided by Ronna Romeny McDaniel summed up in one word: NO.
That is for the GOP base, being deplorable is an asset, not a deal breaker.
Parnell during the custody hearing denied Snellâs accusations of abuse, calling his relationship with her âtumultuousâ but not violent, and maintaining that he never hurt their children.
Damn you idiot prick, a tumultuous relationship with your wife, whether in front of your children or not is not healthy. And doesnât matter if you never physically hurt your kids, the behavior you modeled in front of your kids is bad enough.
An obvious point, and one that bears repeating: if this guy were a Democrat, they would be loudly screaming to send the âliberal pervertâ to jail because he threatens all that is âAmericanâ.
âWe take domestic violence very seriously,â she said. âIf there were criminal charges or if that got pursued, we would look at that very seriously, but itâs gonna be up to the voters to decide (true). They have to make their case and tell their story.â
