Well, it’s Wednesday, so what jaw droppingly stupid thing will happen today on TCF’s watch? Or perhaps more accurately, on his instructions.

Not a lot of people know this, but a great poker strategy is to announce that you’re bluffing before the showdown, and that you’re going to fold, but first you’re going to push a lot more chips into the middle of the table, just to make your bluff more credible.

My uncle who went to MIT (the genius) taught me this.

Owens’ resignation comes as CBS News is under increasing pressure from its parent company Paramount to settle a bogus lawsuit by Donald Trump over how 60 Minutes edited an interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign.

CBS is refusing to back down, Paramount is caving and pressuring them. I do hope they hold out.

60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.

CBS released the transcript in February -

And when he amended the lawsuit in March to $20 billion

Its hump day so I think we all know what JD will be up to today.

Gird your loins and don’t forget to keep some kind of plastic on the couch if he shows up in your neck of the woods.

Yes. And the 25th Amendment has the same problems, plus having built in and massive delays. Nobody has anticipated the case of when the president has clearly gone nuts. AND his party fully backs the insanity.

There’s something seriously wrong with that guy. It’s like they took some random MAGA Facebook troll, dressed him up in a suit, juiced him up with whatever meds were handy, and taught him to repeat every logical fallacy as a substitute for conversation.

This whole timeline sucks. Better hope that 2026 elections (if they happen) give the lackadaisical D’s enough numbers to bring this shit to a screeching halt.

Grey catbird? We usually have at least one pair around for the summer. Even though they are basically a flat, uniform grey I find their shape to be one of the prettiest birds.

Lest we forget, he was alleged to have used a glove stuck between the cushions. The sofa was “protected.” (I’m pretty sure this whole tale has been debunked, but it still makes me laugh.)

What’s he doing there? Visiting the in-laws or brokering a ceasefire to end the fighting in Kashmir while borrowing tRump’s ‘big brain’ to do so.

So much for CBS News being “safe” because it’s part of a large, moneyful conglomerate. Paramount will never let its news tail wag its Big Money dog brand to uphold some kind of “democratic principles.” The days when CBS’s corporate leaders might have gone with the princples instead of the cash were shortly after WWII, Korea, and the Fight Against Fascism.

People forget. All anybody thinks they know about Benito Mussolini was that he “made the trains run on time.” Which was great, right?? Fascism rules!!
