Trump DOJ Doubles Down on Attacking Judges

She has a blood disorder the she knew would affect this. She told them. She requested death by firing squad or hanging. The state refused. They proudly stated “it’s what we’ve done for 45 years”, except there have been repeated problems, including another botched attempt earlier this year.

This is the transcript of a PBS discussion of her case. It is brief, but covers all of the details

Of course, Marsha Blackburn saw this as the perfect opportunity to campaign for governor.

In the interview with Time, he stated he wants the Oval Office and its current decorations to be declared a national landmark so it can never be changed, nothing can be removed.

The comments just before that quote in the Time article that’s referenced.

From the Time interview - much of it went just like this. He had his handlers in the room - Susie Wiles, Steven Cheung - and it still was so far off the rails.

Oh, and then there’s this lightly edited transcript of the interview

At some point he will be “misquote” and sue Time for $10 billion.

Where’s the pearl clutchers that he said “fucking”? He’s a demented buffoon who needs to be institutionalized. Just randomly misfiring synapses in a decaying brains stem. It’s genuinely terrifying.

In Wisconsin, it was a botched hanging that did it. In 1853. The murder he was hanged for was horrific. This wasn’t much better. After he was hoisted from a tree limb in the noose, it took nearly 20 minutes for McCaffary to die, as thousands of people looked on. His home still stands today and there’s a historic marker by his grave. He was the 1st - and last - prisoner executed in Wisconsin.

Only Michigan and Rhode Island have had the ban longer than Wisconsin.

Small modular reactors – fusion or fission – only solve one of the problems with data centers: the humongous amount of electricity needed.

They don’t solve the vast amounts of water needed for cooling the GPUs, and might even boost the water requirements depending on the reactor cooling design. There is also the local heat island problem that raises ambient temperature wherever they’re built. And the noise problem if you live close to one.

With enough raw power from reactors, it might be possible to run closed loop water cooling with refrigeration to cut down the water usage, but I don’t know if anyone is doing that. I think most AI data centers are using evaporative cooling because it uses less electricity than refrigeration, which is why the water use is so high.

Trump has raised the bar for what calls for 25th amendment removal of a President, one of his major accomplishments.

He’s still functional. He can walk, he can talk, he can read a prepared speech. He can travel to rallies and attend photo ops where he signs Executive Orders at the White House. That he has trouble sounding coherent in unscripted settings like the Time interview just isn’t enough to remove him from office, apparently.

I think his mental decline would have to get to the point where he obviously doesn’t know where he is and who he’s talking to, before Vance and the cabinet would even think about trying to 25th him out of office.

Here is what Blanche said about the WH press ban Chump wants

“By the way, that is what is a national security problem,” Blanche continued. “When you have complete misinformation coming out of the White House, that affects our relationship with our foreign partners. That affects our relationship with our foreign enemies."

I am on record for what I see as a terrible new phenomenon…a U.S. Prez lying about every exchange we have with other countries. He gets to a mic first and lies completely about what our adversaries and our allies say. He lies for whole other governments and whole other nations.

During law school I attended a panel that included families of people who had been executed and families of murder victims whose muderer had been executed. The whole process extracts a heavy toll on all of them.

I remember in particular one woman who had been a vocal proponent for the execution of the killer, she felt rage. Then after the execution, it was just nothing, emptiness. Her daughter wasn’t any more alive, and there was no longer a focal point for her anger and grief, just the heavy sense of loss.
