Gop Rep. Lauren Boebert raised eyebrows over the weekend after appearing alongside rumored beau Kid Rock. The MAGA musician and the congresswoman were first spotted at the President’s inauguration in January, leaving the shindig together in a cab at 2.30am. In a social post by conservative radio host and former spokesperson for the National Rifle Association, Dana Loesch, Boebert, 38, is seen cosying up to the 54-year-old singer at his Rock’n’Rodeo in Texas on Friday night. Rock and Boebert posed with Loesch and husband Chris. The “half rock, half rodeo” event was, naturally, streamed live on Fox Nation, billed as “Rodeo reimagined.” Boebert and Rock have denied dating rumours all year, but both are single and ready to mingle–even at rodeos. Boebert reposted Loesch’s photo on X on Sunday, adding “Making America GREAT Again”. She helpfully pointed out her cowboy boots were from the label Redneck Riveria. Kid Rock’s most recent album, 2022’s Bad Reputation , peaked at No.124 on the Billboard Top 200.

US 30-year treasuries hit 5% today, a level not seen since October 2023. The difference is that today we have a Congress and a president who don’t seem to register how much US fiscal policy proposals suck. We know what works and that doesn’t include giving away our most competitive technological capabilities or burning money on the front lawn of the White House.
Thirty-year yields haven’t settled above 5% since a bond rout in October 2023, the Tullett data shows, though they came close in January of this year. Before 2023, longer-dated yields last settled above 5% in August 2007, in the run-up to the global financial crisis

Let’s hope Comey was dumb enough to talk himself into an indictment by the DOJ, since he failed Rule #1: Don’t talk to the cops.

You know, I can’t even stand to read the garbage he pecks out on his Xitty phone. It’s that bad. George Conway is right: why has the infotainment media so consistently sanewashed this guy’s carp? Why aren’t news readers reading in full these little items?
Sure, shrinks will shrink behind “professional responsibility” to never, ever “diagonse” anyone who has not been on their couch (or whatever) for at least a few years. Sad. But people have a tendency to know it when they hear it. The president is cuckoo-bananas.

I’m not sure how to say this, but calling for a “serious national conversation” rarely results in a conversation. The conversations should almost always be about our inability to see how wealth, race, and privilege impact our norms, and for some reason, people who enjoy systemic privilege are unwilling to have that conversation. TFG is still plaguing us because he is still useful to the actual monied elites, and until that changes we are unlikely to have a conversation.
Attacking his former political opponents because they still live rent free in his head keeps the conversation away from the actual harm he is actively doing to the ordinary citizen, and that keeps the guys in the smoke filled rooms comfortable. Not that they would object to his trying to further harm the Democrats, but it is just nice for them not to have people point out that eggs are still expensive, that fossil fuels are going to make our planet uninhabitable, and that Medicaid actually helps all of us have accessible medical care.
My guess is that this attack comes because even he realizes that he can’t attack Biden right now, and this is the best shiny object that they could wave in front of him. Not that I disagree with George Conway, but asking for a national conversation is not going to do any good when the money guys are saying “yes, he’s actually bug freaking nuts, but he’s still useful to us.”
Maybe the Moody’s downgrade will change the tone.
