Alex Holder, the British documentary filmmaker who had close access to then-President Trump and his inner circle before and after Jan. 6, is reportedly expected to comply in an investigation looking into Trump’s unsuccessful efforts to subvert the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia, a source with knowledge of the situation told CNN.
I can’t decide between Trump is too dumb to worry about being on tape, or he thought that the tape would just show how awesome and correct about everything he was. I guess I don’t have to choose. Could be both.
What we see developing here is a perfect trifecta: Indictments in Georgia for election tampering; another indictment in New York for Tax Fraud and money laundering; and finally, the pièce de résistance federal indictments for inciting riot, sedition conspiracy, obstruction of Congress, witness tampering, and conspiracy to murder a federal official (Pence).
The thing about evil or stupid people is that they are incapable of seeing themselves as either evil or stupid. The evil ones believe they’re doing god’s work or saving the world. The stupid ones believe they’re smarter than everyone else. Fat Boy is both evil and stupid.
From what I’ve read over the years that’s exactly it. He imagines repeatedly that he will charm and bully the journalist into seeing him as he sees himself, and he’s enraged every time that the journalist sees him as a mentally disordered fake, then another person asks for an interview and the cycle begins again. He never learns. This has gone on for decades.
And if they are cheesy, they were cheesy deliberately because some cheesy is good. We cringe to hear Bond say, “My dear girl, there are some things that just aren’t done, such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s just as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!” But this was offered as an example of sophistication when the movie came out. Cheesy, but it would be churlish to see it as anything but of the time and naively charming.
