I guess that Family Church Downtown is more into caging little brown children and mean tweeting on Christmas Day.

Iā€™m surprised the church didnā€™t fall down when he walked in.

I guess G-d does have a sense of humor.

Nobody sensible seems to think the CT editorial means much in terms of numbers across the broad spectrum of evangelicals, who are among his solidest supporters. But if he has to shore up that support, well, thatā€™s not a bad thing. Even the slightest worrisome fissure to me is one of those ā€œIā€™ll take itā€ things. He cannot win with just the base. If we get the turnout heā€™s done. So do what you can.

They are even for putting them in chains. Itā€™s a Southern Baptist church, which broke from the mainstream Baptist over slavery, they were pro- Jim Crow and pro-lynching (some pastors even participated in lynchings). So yes itā€™s a pro-MAGA church as you are going to find .

Quite possibly also because he couldnā€™t be sure of what kind of reception he would get at an episcopal church. They might have preached about unity, or kindness, or helping the poor.

Trump went to a church where he knew the marks would line up to kiss his ass!

Trump isnā€™t Christian, heā€™s self-servingly strategic. The object of is worship is very well known (it appears whenever Donnie looks in the mirror).

Or itā€™s not really a house of God.

ā€œWeā€™re not disappointed he didnā€™t share this holy service with us,ā€ BBTS Rector Rev. James Harlan said. ā€œWe just saved a small fortune by not having to have the church undergo 72 hours of industrial-level forced ventilation to remove the smell of sulphur that always accompanies his visits.ā€

Once youā€™ve made a Faustian bargain to become a Russian Stooge & Traitor, ditching a church you used for your 3rd wedding is No Big Deal.

I ainā€™t been to Mass on Christmas since the 60s, but I didnā€™t know that any church would let a twice divorced man recieve a ā€œholyā€ sacrament in their house of worship. And, of course, like any one else in the world who did Trump a favor, he drops them like a bad habit for something he sees as a better deal for him. If you didnā€™t think he could sink any lowerā€¦

So apparently the prayers of the folks at Bethesda by the Sea were answered.

It is almost as if these evangelicals have never read the Bible, or made no attempt to internalize the teachings of Christ. They are hypocrites pure and simple. They arrogantly profess in a faith they donā€™t practice.

They better pray to God that there is no God,
