President Donald Trump will head to Kentucky to try to dig out the unpopular Gov. Matt Bevin (R), who is in the race of his life against state Attorney General Andy Beshear.
I am not sure the Persuader-In-Chief is going to sway any hearts and minds that have already turned against the GOP. I know Democrats certainly didnât like GWB, and Republicans certainly didnât like Obama, but I think Trump is uniquely unsuited to âsavingâ any member of his party who is unpopular or has come under fire.
I do appreciate the fact that Trump feels compelled to do it, because you know in his own mind he is the most popular politician on the planet, and he must absolutely seethe at the notion that he needs to bumble around the country rescuing politicians who are not as great and big as he is.
I wonder if by the time Trump gets to Kentucky heâll even remember what heâs there for? If he watches the news on the plane heâll still be agitated. So what will be the percentage of Trump talking about Trump vs Trump talking about Bevin?
Kentucky - thatâs one of the welfare states, right? Driving Cadillacs and what have you while their people canât afford to pay into the Federal Govt?
Yeah, but this is Kentucky. Still a bastion of the GOP and this will be a real feather in Trumpâs cap if Bevin is re-elected - especially if itâs in a landslide.
I know, I know - the polls says not so much, but the ballot box is all that counts. The State needs a record turnout to say âenough is enoughâ and hopefully that lights a fire under #ditchMoscowMitch to realize he isnât there for life. He should somewhere else for life, but thatâs another show.
Tomorrow, election day, will be interesting. If the races are really close or Dems take them, will the meter move and more people will testify and more GOP senators will waffle?
Protesters did manage to raise the money to bring Trump Baby Balloon to Rump Arena this afternoon. Kentuckyâs repug country, but downtown Lexington is a rainbow sea of liberal Dems. Beautiful weather this afternoon: partly cloudy and 50s. Should be a good protest crowd.
The gop doesnât actually have to die in this election, they just have to be really afraid they will die in the next and that dumping trump will save them.
âAll right Bevin, Iâd love come and hold a rally to save your bacon, but first youâre gonna have to do me a favorâŚlook under that bluegrass and find some Clinton emails. â
