President Donald Trump on Thursday rejected White House COVID-19 task force official Dr. Anthony Fauci’s assertion during a Senate hearing that schools could not be expected to reopen by fall.

We know. He rejects science, and medicine. He lies, and sells insane treatments. This is nothing new.

When I closed the border to China…

Notwithstanding the fact that the majority of cases in NYC were traced to travel in Europe. Please. Trump is so full of crap…and I’ll take Dr. Fauci’s recommendations over Mango Mussolini’s fever dreams and “stuff I saw on FOX” any day.

As Neil deGrasse Tyson often points out, science doesn’t rely on your belief system. Science is true whether you believe it or not.

Another day, another tantrump.

Which border do we share with China again?

So wait… is Trump trying to claim that Fauci wanted to send kids back to school and he argued against it?

Whenever I run into one of these “Luddites” who disbelieves science, I ask them this question;
“If you are that certain that your belief is stronger than my science, please step off the edge of a 30 story building and see if the Angels will hold you up. After all, it’s only a “Theory” of Gravity.”

I also am amused by number of people who say “science is wrong!” but still use computers, GPS, cell phones, etc. and are not bothered at all by the Cognitive Dissonance of those statements.

Pfft. Experts are stupid. That’s why I see my mechanic when I need medical advice.

And the photos of returning US Citizens at airports, all crammed in together waiting for immigration and customs was simply bone chilling. It was like Donnie decided that having a US Passport made all these people immune to carrying the virus to every town and city in the country.
It is not just science the fool denies…it is plain logic and common sense.

The devil offers Trump a bargain: Open up the country now and the virus will relent. Covid deaths will go down to zero and the economy will miraculously bounce back. This will last until the day after the national election in November. After that, the virus will return with a vengeance, putting us back to where we are today but worse, and kill 10 million. Does Trump take the deal?

I know it doesn’t need to be said here, but what about all the adults who work at those schools?

It would be nice if TPM could find out how many millions of non-children would be affected…

Back while it was still legal my sister got her hair cut by a stylist who said she would be fine because of her copper bracelet. She doesn’t have any plans to run for president, in case you were wondering. But that’s the mentality we’re working with there. The biggest difference is the stylist is good enough at something to hold a job.

OMFG. Unbelievable. You have to believe they were either wrapped or carefully packaged by the manufacturer. Twenty thousand swabs now unusable. The mind reels at the stupidity.

What’s with Trump? You can reopen schools…once you get a steady decline in cases for a month and you implement rules like in Denmark. The Federal Government could do a huge boost here by mandating limits on elementary and middle-school class size to 20. That makes distancing doable. Naturally, Mitch would have to sign off on the funding. It would be quite revealing to see where we still have class sizes for small children in excess of 30.

Outside of putting the virus in artillery shells, I can’t think of a better way to ensure that it gets its best chance to spread out into every community. There’s also the fact that children do in fact get it, sometimes get very sick and sometimes die, and there’s a separate syndrome they also get we don’t know much about yet but I wouldn’t want for my own kids. This whole idea that young people are unaffected was overemphasized in the early days and now it’s getting cynically used.

“I totally disagree with [Fauci] on schools,” Trump said.

As if anyone needed evidence that Fauci is right on this.
