I am pleased that Bolton is clearly giving Barr and Trump heartburn over the release of his book but that doesn’t change the fact that he is rightwing trash. He could have testified during the House impeachment proceedings but did not, presumably because he wanted to save the juicy bits for his book. I hope he releases the book and they charge him with something that takes away all his profits in legal fees.

Rich irony alert!

Bolton sells out country for a profit by refusing to testify in impeachment process with an eye on increasing book sales. Bolton then gets sued and the hyper-right wing court that he helped create sides with the White House and he is not allowed to sell his book.

This is just IMPOTUS bluster with input from his consigliere. This should be another legal battle he will lose. Who goes to jail-the publisher or Bolton?

Highly Classified really means Highly Illegal.

Highly Embarrassing is a given.

By the way, does this mean a conversation about what he had for breakfast and the consistency of his morning shit is also classified?

Eh - refusing or not the Senate wasn’t going to convict.

Keeping back and creating this drama has more real potential to damage Trump for our only real chance to remove Trump, November General Election.

Had Bolton testified, none of this drama would be getting this kind of media.

Dems & Anti-Trump actually probably lucked out on this.

“I don’t know if any book that has been published so quickly while the officeholders are still in government and it’s about very current events, current leaders, current discussions, current policy issues. Many of which are inherently classified,” Barr said Monday at the event with Trump.

As usual, a barefaced lie from Barr. Here are just two.

Scared…and Scarred

Trump will regret that he glided down that escalator in 2015.

I take your point. However, Bolton still sold out the country for profit.

Threats and bluster – the standard, predictable (and boring) “Chatty Cathy” response when someone pulls Trump’s chain. Free publicity for Bolton.

Does Trump really think that Bolton and his publisher haven’t thoroughly gone over this with their lawyers?

I hope they fight each other and both lose.

I’m sorry, but watching Barr and Trump take a gestapo dump all over Bolton’s mustache is going to be entertaining as fucking hell.

Note: to the extent it’s illegal, he’s already committed the crime by revealing it all to editors and publishers, etc. This is solely about not wanting everyone to find out too.

Trump also suggested that criminal charges should be pursued against anyone who writes a book based on those supposedly “classified” chats.

Damn Don why didn’t you just hide Boltin’ Bolton on the code word protected server where all your other “highly classified” conversations are stored?

"I will consider every conversation with me highly classified.

Even your hamberder order at McDonald’s?

I saw him say this, and I just laughed and laughed.

Bolton’s egregious decision aside and acknowledging that he has long served as a mustache in search of a country to bomb and make war with, I will relish this skirmish between two epic assholes. I would speculate that for the most part we’ve heard/read most of what will have been written but the big reveal will be the rank criminality of the dotard and this administration on so many fronts.

Best Case: Manuscript gets out do to the actions of the fabled invisible hand and makes the rounds through social media pdfs high and low. Media companies “publish” the juicy bits, too, because they can’t be constrained. Trump is shown to be the criminal traitor we think he is, and Bolton can’t make a nickel from the book because the publisher won’t sell many copies. Rough justice, perhaps, but justice of a sort.
