President Donald Trump on Tuesday called the Justice Department’s initial sentencing recommendation for his friend and adviser Roger Stone “ridiculous” but denied intervening on Stone’s behalf to make the proposed sentence lighter.
You know I like you, but have to disagree here. If he wasn’t concerned, he’d be all owning his shit, saying that of course he did it, and it was perfectly fine and within his rights to do.
Actually I was trying to say the same thing you were (namely that the fucker is DAMNED concerned). English is a second language for me sometimes and trying to be too cute can backfire.
He didn’t talk to Justice Department officials, I’m sure of that. He screamed at Mulvaney, and Mulvaney carried the message. It’s a lie wrapped in truth.
And of course, Mulvaney won’t answer a subpeona because being ordered to commit a crime is executive privilege…
If Trump weren’t uncontrollably impulsive and Barr a mere lickspittle simply doing what he knew would please his king, the crassly reduced sentence would barely even rise to the level of, “will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?”
But that’s Trump and that’s not Barr: this is a metastasizing tyranny and it needs dedicated soldiers who know damned well which side of their bread will be buttered if they obey the king; Stone is another exemplar that king’s men will be protected.
