It seems like the coronavirus outbreak won’t stop President Trump from holding his beloved re-election campaign rallies.
Trump knows he’s safe holding rallies since coronavirus is only hitting blue states. Fox News told him so.
“Until this moment, Mr. Trump, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness or stupidity.” When Trump tried to continue his attack, decent citizens angrily interrupted, “Let us not assassinate the truth any further, Mr. Trump. You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?”
– paraphrased from Joseph Welch’s reply to Sen. Joseph McCarthy for update
I am glad to see his commitment. A woman I met at an Elizabeth Warren rally last week said that if she contracts the corona virus, she is going to attend as many Trump rallies as possible.
Why do press orgs send people to ask him questions? The information is less than useless.
Keep holding Nuremberg rallies, Donnie. Since the Coronavirus is a Democrat [sic] hoax, you and your cultists will be just fine.
White people can’t catch Chinese diseases, everyone knows that.
He really is doing everything he can to help spread this virus. You almost have to wonder if this is pure stupidity or is he actually trying to do this?
Epidemics are not a zero sum game. If it occurs elsewhere in the world, it is our problem. We, as Americans, live in the world.
That same year, the Trump Administration began to tear down a foreign-disease-surveillance program that the Obama Administration had established in response to outbreaks of Ebola in Africa. That program serves as an early-warning system for detecting global pandemic threats, and it helped limit the extent of the 2017 Ebola outbreak in Congo, which, along with China, was one of the countries that the Trump Administration decided it’s no longer necessary to monitor. As with many public-health programs, preparedness requires policymakers to focus on the future. Naturally, such investments do not generate immediate returns or obvious results. But neither do missile-defense systems.
Yes
I am gonna laugh my ass off when it happens.
Hmmm, waiting to see if he’ll have that cheering crowd behind him at this rally.
And blowing their germs his way.
Other than unhealthy mental health issues involving obsessions with the latest Apple devices?
Goody. As I’ve said - cram 'em in there.
Not a surprise at all…
During a White House pool spray Monday morning, Trump defended his decision to keep holding rallies
Now there’s an unfortunate turn of phrase
I wholeheartedly encourage Trump rallies amid this epidemic!
Especially in red states.
Maybe they could even introduce a turn-and-shake-the-hand-of-the-person-next-to-you segment.
Shit - bestow the Kiss of Peace
He can’t give up the rallies. He needs them for narcissistic supply. The question is whether he’ll get the crowds he expects. That will be interesting to watch.
He’s setting himself up for an interesting contrast in “optics” with Dem candidate rallies.
He’s likely to enforce a rule that nobody can wear a mask at his rallies, because that would conflict with his “everything is fine” mantra. Meanwhile, we might start seeing masks in the audience at Dem rallies, because I can’t imagine any Dem candidate up or down-ticket prohibiting it. Then Trump will start saying Dems are promoting fear by doing that, it’s all a Hoax and so on. Interesting times ahead.
