Trump Dares SCOTUS To Do Something About His Defiance

Great observation! Democrats need to start learning the language of Americans, not lefty lib-arts grad students. Drop nonsense like “Latin Ex”, for example. And, for that matter, stop treating and thinking of everyone whose ancestors spoke Spanish as a single, indistinguishable bloc.

While I;m on my high horse, we civilian lefties need to stop thinking of Republican-voting Americans as a single bloc, too. Definitely drop the “fat, stupid, selfish, ugly, gun-obsessed” and all that other carp. Each one is a human being, with a variety of interests, concerns, and needs that can be addressed. This is how Congress (and legislatures) used to work. When they worked.

I agree with the sentiment, but I think there’s probably a better, more contemporary term. Not that I know what it is. What was it they used to say – “latte liberals?” We need something equally specific and silly. It’s just hard to come up with stuff like that and not feel dumb!

Gold-toilet CEOs? Armani autocrats? Tassel-loafer fascists?

One thing to remember about this crowd in Michigan: The dregs of society can seem significant when all combined in one vessel. That crowd is totally self selecting, and says zilch about the popularity of trump and his fucked up policies.

My thoughts on Trump’s defiance of the supreme court? It’s totally performative. My best guess is that he and Pam Bondo are going to keep this up publicly to fool as many rubes as possible while they quietly bring Garcia back. If they don’t do that voluntarily, the posturing allows the courts to force the DoJ or ICE to comply, and if they don’t it will be lower level officials facing contempt charges.

There’s certainly lots of precedent for that. I hope you’re right. But you’ve got Blondi on TV saying stuff like “he’s never coming back.” Not that they care if there’s a massive gulf between what they say and do.

All in good fun! Just after the death and funeral of one pope, while the cardinals are meeting to elect the next pope, let’s joke about the office that most of the world’s 1.4 billion Roman Catholics revere. So diplomatic and respectful to make light of the office. I’m surprised JD didn’t join in the fun.

I wonder how long the coalition of RW Evangelicals and conservative RC’s is going to hold together.

Proving that neither Trump nor Lindsey know jack about the Roman Catholic Church. But mocking a major religion is what they both do.
