Trump Corruptly Targets Schiff With Criminal Investigation

Of course, with Otto the Orange, every accusation is projection.

He is, after all, a real estate raccoon!

So happy that Merrick the Meek kept the DOJ pure.

Which is quite possibly true. We don’t actually know if he left that prison dead, or they substituted one of the homeless men they had killed in the city in the couple weeks prior, before conveniently cremating the remains so that nobody can get curious and run DNA tests down the road.

The Morning Memo is just grim. The thought that all of these things will be contested and then supported on SCOTUS’ shadow docket is enough to make me want to read fiction, play music and exercise - literally anything besides reading more of this. I did not foresee them going after colleges and science like this, but it is obvious that Stephen Miller’s hatred, Trump’s pettiness and the right wing’s total lack of empathy for anyone other than white Christian crybabies has no discernible boundaries or endpoints.

Radical leftist lunatics? They have hat condoms for rain, like I had in the Park Service for my flat brimmed “smokey bear” hat.

History loves irony doesn’t it? Nero throws a water festival and some weeks later the Great Fire erupts in 64. The imperial crown falls off the coronation carriage of Napolean I in 1804 and again off that of Napolean III in 1852. Jefferson and Adams die on July 4, 1826. The emperor Claudius is censor yet clueless about the adultery in his own house. Parallels, ironies, coincidence - like the remnants of the World Trade Center on 9/11 resembling the ticker tape parade in NYC in triumphal procession after the First Iraq War and the Highway of Death (yeah, I remember that).

And so the republic, founded with the millstone of racism and institutional slavery tied around its neck, and further burdened with over two centuries of proudly ignorant anti-intellectualism, imperialism, violence, and genocide, now drowns in a sea of racial animus, malice, and sheer stupidity.

It would be something to cheer were it not for the simple and obvious fact that so many people of goodwill sought to counterbalance all of this - those who worked in the university system, NGOs, USAID, dedicated teachers, doctors, scientists, and pro bono lawyers, the US soldiers who fought and died against fascism in WWII, not to mention those who sought to fill the gap between those in need, and a sizable portion of the population whose mean-spiritedness can only be described as grizzly.

We live in the world. I expect no justice. But in a perfect universe, frankly every last GOP office holder and numerous appointees (Bonjour CJ Roberts!) should be in front of a tribunal or jury, and their voters have their franchise revoked for the simple fact of their malice, ignorance, and their desire to deprive others of liberty and the means of life.

I had that poster on my bedroom wall, way back when.

Dick’s crimes seem so petty now. And show how the Congressional Majority and the SCOTUS have collapsed and surrendered all power to the White House.

The Chief must be so proud. He will go down in the History Books, as he desired. But we, and he, now know he will go down as the worst Chief ever. Surpassing Roger Taney.

This U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone is a piece of work. Recently he made a big deal of being attacked by a dude with a knife. It was on all local news with him fearing for his life and gesturing getting his throat cut and describing other threats. A week later surveillance video emerged and the dude with a knife was nowhere near him at all. You’d think a U.S. Attorney would know there are cameras everywhere.

Universities having to pay “hundreds of millions of dollars”??? To whom? Why? And are the alumni concerned?

Hey, maybe if the U’s started taking money out of the football team – or basketball, if it’s that kind of a state – the former students would notice. It seems as if woke trivia like “academic freedom” and “truth” are not big motivators anymore.
