President Trump is scheduled to resume his reality TV-style White House coronavirus briefings at 5 p.m. ET. Trump told reporters during a pool spray yesterday that the new briefings will be “a great way to get information out to the public” — though if his last round of briefings is any indication, Trump himself will be delivering very little useful information.
It’s the first one in months, he’s probably anxiously chomping at the bit. So maybe only 30 on the over/under for today’s late start?
Without Fauci, it’s not a coronavirus briefing, it’s a campaign klan rally. I honestly have no idea what he thinks he’s accomplishing. Since Trump’s Razor is “it’s always the stupidest explanation,” I think it’s just that he’s missing having these rallies as the cult members are not willing to sacrifice themselves in large numbers, and this is the best he can do. I hope the press catches on and doesn’t just give him the platform, but my expectations are low.

If Trump simply disappeared from public view for about 3 or 4 weeks (after all, we’re near the traditional August vacation time), stopped tweeting, and the WH only issued anodyne press statements (without typos and syntactical errors, for a change), his poll numbers would automatically gain 5 points.
