I won’t cut Trump slack on this for lots of reasons, most importantly–

  • his staff jumped in to correct the error almost immediately; it is considered ‘normal’ in Trumpland to fix tweets, cover up gaffes, hide phone call transcripts on secret servers, berate others when his errors cause panic THIS IS NOT NORMAL
  • The part about Kansas City representing the USA so well displays not only his hatred of San Francisco, but also his racist stereotyping and his mental decline
  • others here have commented that the verb “confuse” is inappropriate, that he doesn’t care; this shows how broadly he does not care–big stuff, small stuff, any stuff

And the thing is, Trump can’t survive as a phenomenon if he’s widely held in sneering contempt. Tends to undercut the strongman strutting. when you forgot to wear pants that day. Most people in the lunchroom at work can’t tell you much about the theories of self-government the founders were working with. But they can tell you how the boss is a jerk.

I can think about his stupidity and his criminality at the same time. And seek to use both to bring him down.

That’s why they love him. He represents the triumph of everything they perceive in themselves. It’s a lottery mentality: the kind of stupidity that votes against taxing the rich because “Hey, maybe I’ll be a rich guy like him someday!”

Missouri Republican Senators Blunt and Hawley refuse to subpoena documents or call witnesses to prove Trump wrong. Offer to give Kansas City, MO to the state of Kansas, retroactive to January 29,1861 Kansas statehood, to prove him correct.

I’m pretty sure that KC, KS is celebrating the griefs win just as much as KC, MO. I’m also pretty sure the president tre45on was oblivious to the fact that the Griefs play in Missouri.

That clamoring that the Chiefs don’t belong to KC, KS just as much as KC, MO is a reflection of class and race that should not be ignored. Excluding KC, KS from the celebration is furthering the historic economic and racial discrimination between those two cities.

Let this chip at potus go… he’ll provide another inane comment in 4…3…2…1.
