The Kansas City Chiefs, a team that hails from Missouri, won the Superbowl on Sunday night, and President Donald Trump took it upon himself to congratulate the wrong state.
The great hero of the heartland rides again.
Here’s hoping some of the good people of Kansas and Missouri realize this is a lesson on what he really thinks of them.
I’m a lifelong Dem. I do not like Trump. But this kind of stupid snark drives me crazy. I live in Kansas. Lots of smart people get this wrong. It’s not a big deal. Let’s focus on child separation, Trump’s racism, etc. AKA, real things to be worried about.
I consider myself a sports fan and couldn’t tell you the name of three professional soccer teams in this country. I’d give Trump a pass on this. Maybe the people writing stories about the snafu could instead remind people he’s still kidnapping immigrant children from their parents.
I understand your answer. Everybody gets stuff wrong from time to time.
The problem is that this is not the first or even twenty-first or one-hundred-and-first time he has got stuff wrong. He gets stuff wrong all the time. The problems with child separation, racism and all that stuff are because he gets stuff wrong all the time. He delights in his ignorance and so do his followers. And that’s why we have so much bad stuff happening.
Some enterprising media outlet really needs to do a “where is he now?” story on this guy. Of course, he may well be standing right there with his sign, to this day.
