Trump Claims Opponents Are Conspiring In ‘Political Hit’ To Delay COVID Vaccine | Talking Points Memo

If Biden blows this election we’re all screwed. Strongly, beautifully screwed.

So he’s going to demand that they roll out an inadequately vetted vaccine. That should make for lovely headlines.

If people don’t turn out to VOTE for BIDEN we’re screwed

I think we can leave the ‘style’ out of the paranoid style on this one.
Donnie crossed into the realm of very long sleeved white jackets a long time ago. Perhaps it’s time he got fitted?

Will the drug companies take a chance of placing a unproven vaccine out?
Will the American public take it?

3 million more people turned out to vote for Clinton than Trump in 2016, to no avail. Unfortunately Biden may very well need a popular vote margin between 5 and 10 million people to win, which is a sad commentary for a “democracy”.

So it’s not also a political hit to do the reverse, and push out a vaccine before it’s ready in order to get reelected? Got it.

No to the first one. Not just the drug companies, but the doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and all the others who would be at the needle end of the vaccine distribution will not accept the liability exposure. Wrongful death or disability suits are expensive! Their liability insurance won’t cover a vaccine that is clearly unsafe.

They aren’t but it’s a good idea.

Actually - if obvious and real concerns are knowingly being concealed - or are deliberately not even being explored - just to push out an insufficiently tested and evaluated product … that could be genocidal …
Would anyone be surprised if we were to learn that Trump’s response to news that there was clear significant risk of fatalities … would be “so what … I want it now!”

Even a safe, effective vaccine has to be accepted by the public to be of use. Right now, the majority of the US public believes that COVID vaccines are boing rushed for political purposes. If President Trump really cared about public health, he would commit to NOT seek approval of a vaccine before the election. Of course, that is not his primary concern. Baring that, the pharmaceutical companies should agree no delay seeking approval until after November 3. The last thing any of thes companies needs is the taint of putting out an unsafe of ineffective vaccine for political purposes. The reputation also loss would be unrecoverable.

There’s still almost six weeks to go and he’s already completely insane. By late October he’ll probably be wearing an actual tin foil hat at his rallies and ranting about lizard people in the secret service who are trying to eat him.

So, pretty much indiscernible from everyone else at the rally.

It will be interesting to see if he is first in line for the “Trump” vaccine, followed by his family and staff members. My guess is that he will lie about taking it, just for consistency’s sake.

He doesn’t care if it actually exists or people can take it. He just wants to announce it the last week of October to claim he’s done the greatest job ever on fighting the pandemic.

Its a “fool some of the people, some of the time” strategy to get him through the election. Post-election, he won’t care. If he wins, then nobody will be able to stop him anyways. If he loses, then he’ll stop even pretending to care about the American people.
