Susan Faludi compared civil rights (women’s rights) to climbing a corkscrew- 5 steps up 4 steps down. All Pelosi would have to do is get out of Jerry Nadler’s way and let him start a formal inquiry. He doesn’t need any approval from anybody.
She’s afraid of doing so because dum-dum Democrats from swing districts think, like Brick Tamland, that the way to win a fight is to pretend to be on the other team from time to time. But it’s not necessary to have 200+ votes for impeachment just to start a formal inquiry. It’s absurd that nothing formal has been started yet.

She can bribe them to do whatever she wants. If she came out for impeachment, there would be an avalanche of other Reps following her lead.
So far, she has bribed them not to support impeachment. So far, only 85 reps have defied Speaker Pelosi and come out for impeachment. Most won’t defy Pelosi if it costs them their gravy-train of DCCC campaign contributions from the Queen of the Donor Class or a leadership position or plum committee assignment.
Follow the money.
PS. Almost all the major Democratic Presidential Candidates are pro-impeachment.

I wasn’t clear enough.
What I meant is that Pelosi may have been right not to push for Acosta’s impeachment.
As you may have seen, I’m all for Acosta being competently investigated, and then indicted as appropriate.
