Donald Trump filmed a video for Capitol attacker Ashli Babbitt’s birthday, celebrating Babbitt’s life and saying “there was no reason Ashli should’ve lost her life that day” — while failing to describe Babbitt’s own actions, as part of a mob attack on the Capitol, that preceded her death.
“there was no reason Ashli should’ve lost her life that day”
That’s true. If Trump hadn’t unleashed an insurrectionist mob to attack the Capitol and try to overturn an election, Babbitt would likely still be alive.
Because the de facto and de jure leader of one of our two major political parties is celebrating a terrorist being martyred to the cause of mob rule and violent insurrection. Seems newsworthy.
He did apparently wish her a “happy birthday,” which under most of the definitions I know for “happy” seems out of place…
“My heart and the hearts of millions of Americans across the country are with everyone — everyone — who knew and loved her,” Trump said, after wishing Babbitt a happy birthday.
He doesn’t know how to show true emotions for other people and just knows how to ape the staid platitudes without any sense of how appropriate they truly are for a specific situation.
Typical Trump: Trump makes himself the center of attention while exploiting a woman’s death. Even though she was part of an insurrection against the Constitution, she’s a martyr because she died for The Donald.
A very fine person who broke into the Capitol and attempted to force her way onto the House chamber to kill or take hostages in order to see Trump ascend the Presidency regardless of the American system electing leaders…
Because the cultural appropriation aspects of a white woman posing in front of all these exotic locales in a creepy “tradition” she’s created of re-creating her wedding in every country she visits (note to husband-- psycho alert, RUN) was too extreme even for Josh to run with.
