Bedminster sits up against I-78. You know, the road that goes from the Holland Tunnel to Newark Airport, with splits at I-95, the GSP, and I-287. It is a place where almost everyone hates his guts. And yes, you get a glimpse of Shitgibbon Acres from the highway.
And NJ has actually driven its infection rate well down. The social distancing is slowly becoming less strict (but masks and 6-feet social distancing are still de rigeur, this is a challenge for indoor dining. But a lot of restaurants are getting their outdoor dining in order. If these Randian assholes from Oklahoma would STFU, most restaurant and bar owners would figure out how to make this work. In fact, a lot of workplaces could be cured with masks and proper partitions – tear down the cube walls, and replace them with floor to ceiling offices!!
Pence per se is not as much as a threat as we think. He’ll actually show up for debates and try to debate. Biden would pave the stage with him. If Pence completely repudiates Trump, he’s dead with the dead-ender deplorables. If he doesn’t, he’s dead with the anti-trumpers. And the rest of us are going to be out in full force. Most white male liberals are high-involvement voters, and right now it looks like African Americans are plenty pissed and willing to vote in a pandemic in a rainstorm and wait in line for five hours. How many people under 35 or even 40 are going to vote for Trump? This is why the Rs are so dependent on voter suppression and/or outright breaking election day.
This guy is boring compared to, say, Jerry Epstein. He looks like a very downscale sort of sex offender. If he shows up at an elementary school, the kids can beat him up on their own.
OK. Credit where credit is due. She has a better drive swing than her dad and is 1/2 connecting with the ball. I’m curious if the heels help or hinder the swing. (It’s definitely a reimagining of “spiked golf shoes.”) It’s not like she has to walk around in them between parts of the course. And I’m sure that Trump is totally in testosterone meltdown watching this.
Even without Trump we’d still have Republicans, and they are a plague. Trump just provides the sociopathic afterburner, ramping up the plague. We need to get rid of the plague.
Trump not the Covid-19 virus is making me sick. In Washington, our Governor mandated that Everyone ware a mask in any public place. That includes our immortal young people spreaders. Time to wake up.
Sort of OT, but related: it’s been reported that Russia is putting bounties on the lives of American troops in Afghanistan, with no response from the administration. Obviously, then, it’s a matter of urgency for Trump to remain in D.C. in order to protect…ummm, statues, law and order, and all that. Apologies to those who already posted.
So, sort of related but not really, what have you folks been doing with whatever free time the pandemic has opened up for you–aside from posting here more than usual of course?
Hobbies? Activities? Binge-watching? Exercising? Napping? And if you have been binge-watching (and I know you have), what have you binge-watched?
Myself, I’ve been exercising a bit more, gardening, buying a few relatively inexpensive things with my pandemic stimulus check, spending too much time online, and, yes, binge-watched. So far I’ve seen every season of The Expanse, Fleabag, Catastrophe, Upload, Mrs. Maisel, The Man in the High Castle, The Beauty and the Baker (Israeli series), every Star Wars TV series and movie (for the umpteenth time), and am now working through Eureka, Ally McBeal and Lost.
I’ve enjoyed all of them, but The Expanse and Lost especially. I can’t wait for the 5th season of The Expanse later this year (along with the 2nd one of The Mandalorian), and am curious where they took Lost beyond its 1st season (which I’m almost done with so please no spoilers). Based on the 1st season alone, this is one brilliantly messed-up plotline that can potentially go anywhere.
I think this is a sign of how completely out of control Trump is at this point. Golf is one of the few things he thinks he can control, so he has to engage in it no matter how bad he looks.
I’m hoping that he plays a couple of really bad rounds. That should send him so far over the edge that even Pence will know its time to intervene…
I love it how they ANNOUNCE DAMMIT! that Donnie won’t be going to NJ … so instead he goes to his gold club in Virginia. Somehow we are supposed to think this is all ‘normal’.
