People are saying Soleimani was killed because Vlad gave the green light. And that’s only because the Iranian leadership secretly wanted him taken out. So we almost went to war (jury is still out on that I guess) because Trump is a patsy.

Going to war with somebody who has gutted every relevant Federal department of qualified experts and leaders needed to wage one seemed like a horrifying idea last night and it still does. The Democrats won’t pounce right now but Im not convinced this is a political winner for the guy who bankrupted four casinos.

Well, it’s certainly not made him any more popular than he was, so I guess it’s not working for him. In fact, his popularity has dropped a little according to Fivethirtyeight:

This isn’t over. Iran is playing the long game. This is their part of the world and we are the interlopers. And in less than a year, they will likely have nuclear weapons.
Time for Trump to visit our troops in the far out bases for more than an hour.
Strut with your body, instead of your mouth, in front of the enemy and challenge them to face you.
If they do come forward show them your bone spurs and remind them you had unprotected sex during Nam.
Trump has now made it glaringly obvious that he is seeking the exact same reaction that Obama got when he okayed the killing of Bin Laden. Besides trying to erase Obama completely from the history books, he is now seeking to emulate the high points of the Obama presidency with his own. It is like watching a jealous child trying to raise himself by destroying the achievements of others, even if it is just the achievement of stacking a few building blocks successfully. His willingness to have his military carry out operations for the sole purpose of giving him some sort of bragging rights is one of the most chilling examples of narcissism on full display that I have ever witnessed. There is no humor to be found here - his sick ego is the most dangerous thing facing the world right now.
