Trump Campaign Didn’t Expect Level of Blowback On Tulsa Juneteenth Rally Decision | Talking Points Memo

President Trump was aware of Juneteenth’s history when the date was selected for the relaunch of his reelection campaign rallies, but, according to the Associated Press, he did not expect the level of opposition that ensued after announcing the decision.

How many “Parscales” did it take for them to come to this blindingly obvious conclusion?

Geez, it worked for Reagan. What’s the matter with people these days?

The reason the Trump Campaign didn’t expect this level of blowback is because they are a bunch to totally ignorant, clueless, head up their asses, total idiots. It’s as simple as that.

So, they’re saying they didn’t expect blowback from white people?

Trump does not have the pulse of the country for this election. Expect a large win for Biden in 4.5 months. It will bigger than Obama’s in 2008.

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

They’re desperately hoping, though, that the counter-blowback from the base for being forced to change the date of the ego-boost rally will be bigger and more intense.

(Good luck with that. When your base is shrinking, they have to yell even louder to be heard over the turning wheels of a changing world.)

My take, they expected blow-back and were looking for it as it would play into their retoric of being oppressed. All planned, a closer look at the venue contract will more than likely show the plan was to hold on the 20th. Also look at the police security contract, hotel, communication, etc.

It’s really much simpler than that. They have done this kind of stuff repeatedly. Each time there is some grumbling and pushback, then it dies down, the point is made and they carry on. And each time they ramp up the offense to make sure the point is made, a new precedent is set and the acceptable boundary is moved. This time, they overplayed their hand.

They weren’t aware of the date’s significance. They’re just saying now that they knew about it because to do otherwise would be to admit their own cluelessness.

Trump can’t play chess, he is not a strategist and he never thinks past the coming week. What he is good at is 3 dimensional trolling. And as long as he continues to troll “liberals”, his base will never, ever leave him.

“It was a deliberate provocation,” a Trump senior advisor said, “but we expected to get away with it. Also, did you notice that we’re doing it in Tulsa? That’s so awesome.”

Exactly.

I am hoping for something more akin to the 1964 Presidential Election results.

1964 Electoral College Results:
Johnson/Humphrey: 486 (States Carried = 44 + DC)
Goldwater/Miller: 52 (States Carried = 6)

BUT, you are probably correct. It will look a lot more like 2008.

2008 Electoral College Results:
Obama/Biden: 365 (States Carried = 28 + DC + NE-02)
McCain/Palin: 173 (States Carried = 22)

Maybe Trump should plan on a rally at a site that makes fun of stupid corrupt evil people.

I think they will cancel the event all together some time this week. The virus upswing will close them down.
