There is a huge number of ideologically (and for I know financially) crooked Dems out there, infesting statehouses and city councils all over the country. These people may once have had ideals, but years of holding office and enriching themselves and palling around with Republican hacks has taken its toll. Our NY governor, Andrew Cuomo, is a prime specimen. He actually encouraged a bunch of state senators to caucus the GOP so that he could maintain his personal power and keep raking in the bucks from his pals in real estate and Wall Street. He would definitely jump ship if he was in another state.
Better to replace those delicate fingers with some plastic, because surely not even the finest taxidermist could work with such small bones.
