C’mon. Don’t you know how this works? Reports of increased deaths are a function of reporting the deaths. The same with testing. If there was less testing there would fewer cases. Because everyone knows that testing causes the reports of positive cases. It is the same with COVID-related deaths. The fact that the deaths are reported causes the deaths.

This is actually an old Soviet meme. Doctors were prohibited from diagnosing Typhus (and likely other things as well) and so the Sov’s did not have any problem with diseases related to poverty and filth.
