If ever there was a US president who deserved to be impeached and removed from office it is trump. He commits law breaking in public. If the SCOTUS had a spine they’d send marshalls to arrest donnie. Not sure how many immigrants the US has sent to El Salvador, but it has been reported that the US is paying El Salvador $6m. According to what I heard on NPR a little while ago we’ve sent around 250 prisoners to El Salvador, that’s $24,000 per prison to date.
What I don’t know is did Trump pay up front? How many prisoners will El Salvador take before it becomes cost negative for them?
Also which agency’s budget is this money coming from?
Darr, this is not our government. That has been in a hostage scenario since January. What is in place is a criminal regime led by a delusional mad man. I have given up trying to say anything other than criminal. The problem is the authorities are also now held hostage as well.
How it plays out, I have not a clue at this point. But what is amazing is how many irons in the fire they have developed without the needed support structure to institutionalize it. At the rate they are going, they will either end up in the garbage chute or swell up like blueberry. We need to persevere in the meantime.
