I agree that’s hard to reconcile, then I reminded myself that Watergate, etc. had nothing to do w/ tRump. Therefore, (for him) it’s not worth remembering.
He refuses to learn anything–other than how much he can get away with–from his own life; you think he’d waste time/effort learning from someone else’s?

And documented deaths due to other circumstances it fell right on Donald Trump’s shoulders. For instants, how is messed up the messed up the post office, delays in meds getting two patients for the loss of jobs due to this virus and no insurance benefits to cover their children and their families how many are going to die because of those circumstances who’s keeping track of all those deaths or dumbasses? No one’s minding the store he’s too busy killing us all he could care less whether you your father your grandmother or your children die it’s no skin off his nose. Seriously he needs to be held accountable he needs to be forced into a resignation by his CoHearts is cabal is colt he’s a lock stepping Republican toadies. They need to step up and force him in to a resignation immediately. They owe it to us they owe it to America save lives making read resigned To be some accountability some punishment for what he’s done. All his life he’s been able to walk away not being held accountable for nothing and I’m sick and tired of it.
I think you can have a reasonable debate about what Woodward should have done with his scoop - but only after a clear acknowledgement that Woodward’s duty of care is far far smaller than that of every other person In the White House.

Forget about election arithmetic for a bit. My argument is that had the Trump cult heard their leader say on tape that covid-19 is dangerous, take precautions, then they might have done so and supported such efforts more.
Returning to election arithmetic, yes, February or September, whatever Woodward says will not make a difference to the Trump cult’s votes.

I think the point is (for me) that since Trump lies all the time Woodward had to verify with somebody that this is what his briefers told him. Trump could’ve, on the next tape, say, btw, I just realized you thought I was serious about that virus last week. I was just pulling your leg.
And you know Trump could do that.
I am of two minds on this but that’s why I’m a liberal.

Would the timing of Woodward’s revelation have made a difference in what Trump said about how to handle things? Thousands and thousands of deaths have made no difference. Trump is almost uniquely immune to shame, and unconcerned about what happens to anyone but himself. He’s a sociopath, and he’s stupid. Those two characteristics have governed his response to this crisis. I don’t see how Woodward’s timing enters into it.

Any criminal can do crime, but it takes a president to do so many crimes that no one can keep up with them.
