Trump’s kayfabe is getting a little stale. His fans want blood and he’s not delivering. At the level he and his non-evangelical fan base operate at, there’s a real danger he’s going to lose the WWE crowd who basically just want to see teeth fly or someone thrown out of the ring.
ETA: I mean he’s figuratively as well as literally just phoning it in.

Obviously it’s absurd that a Pence aide could be a—wait a minute…
“Never Trumper” merely being shorthand for someone who would otherwise be cheering for me had they not had direct evidence of my malfeasance.
Pitiable. Except he deserves none.
None whatsoever. Too much evil. Too many damaged bodies and souls.
Not to mention a proud nation’s soul, as he was able to get people to square off in defending or reviling him.
When we turn the corner on the track and head into the home stretch toward Trump’s removal, the overwhelming cascade of emotions will be one in which this thought will surface:
“Thank Goodness, I am not him.”
“Trump Baselessly Claims Pence Aide Is A ‘Never Trumper’.”
Have we reached the frothing-fleckspittle-while-running-naked-across-the-South-Lawn phase yet?
Or are we still at the screaming-while-filling-diapers-and-dodging-thorazine-darts-in-the-Oval stage?

Mind you, I didn’t go to Trump University, so my math may be off, 53.9% of the people who voted in 2016 did not vote for Trump and he lost to Hillary by 2.87 million votes (48.2% of the vote). Most of the country would appear to be never-Trumpers from the start. His current popularity is averages 41%, which suggests he’s converted a considerable number of folks to the never-Trump team since being elected. So, some amount of paranoia is may be justified.
That said, I’d put many of the folks working as aides and middle management in this circus in the “I would have preferred somebody else, but am trying make do without ruining the rest of my life” camp.

My years of experience with Alzheimers’ and other dementia patients indicates that literal shit-throwing is not far away. I’m going to be very interested to see how far it goes before first the GOP establishment and then the Seig Heil crowd cut him loose.
