President Donald Trump on Tuesday continued his attack on the Commission on Presidential Debates, suggesting that his face off with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will be unfair because the debate’s moderator “cannot be neutral at all.”
Maybe he can cry on and call the moderator a snowflake. He can sulk and call the moderator weak. He can fuss about fairness and call the moderator a loser.
DJT knows we can hear him when he talks, doesn’t he? Just checking.
Exxon Mobil issued a clarification after President Trump claimed he could easily call on the oil company’s CEO for a large campaign donation at any time, Marketwatch reports.
Said Trump: “I call some guy, the head of Exxon. I call the head of Exxon. I don’t know. How are you doing? How’s energy coming? When are you doing the exploration? Oh, you need a couple of permits? When I call the head of Exxon I say, ‘You know, I’d love for you to send me $25 million for the campaign.’ ‘Absolutely sir.’”
Having been made aware of Trump’s comments, the company said the call “never happened.”
It also reveals the internal conflict in the strategy. If you think the moderator has it in for you the smart move is to kiss that moderators ass. If you know the moderator does NOT have it in for you it’s OK to do what Trump’s doing. The point is to position yourself where there’s nothing to lose. Not everything to lose.
If the debate commission can put a timer on the screen and on the stage so that both the candidates and the audience can see, it will go a long way toward showing fairness. He will complain about the questions, however. Asking him to know anything is on its face unfair.
