U.S. Attorney William McSwain, appointed by President Donald Trump, blamed Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner for promoting a “culture of disrespect for law enforcement” that he claims led to a Wednesday night shooting that left multiple officers injured.

Dismissing petty theft and small time drug charges isn’t the same as sowing the seeds of disrespect for law enforcement. What has Krasner done that encourages people to shoot police officers?

This is highly improper for a U.S. Attorney. Do not let this person take away established norms. He is one person. He can be removed and go away, but the norms have to remain in place.
OT The Press will become the Fourth Estate, rather than “The Media” when we decide that we have had enough of Trump. And we are at that point NOW. One thing that can happen here is an aggressive pushback on this U.S. Attorney. First of all, he is talking to his MobBoss, Trump. Second, he is talking to all the MAGAs in the Philadelphia area

The rot from this obscenely corrupt, incompetent, authoritarian and un-American “Administration” goes deeper every single day, and it will take a very, very long time to undue the damage done by just 4 years of it.

Don’t worry. Susan Sarandon assured us the Revolution © will happen any minute now if Trump was elected.
Any…minute…now…

“We’ve now endured over a year and a half of the worst kinds of slander against law enforcement — the DA routinely calls police and prosecutors corrupt and racist, even ‘war criminals’ that he compares to Nazis,” McSwain wrote in a shocking statement. “This vile rhetoric puts our police in danger. It disgraces the Office of the District Attorney. And it harms the good people in the City of Philadelphia and rewards the wicked.”
Seriously, is there any truth to this paragraph or is McSwain just making shit up? By the way I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that anybody appointed by Trump just makes shit up.

Encouraged an enviroment that saw the police taking a suspect of color alive following a standoff instead of gunning him down in the street at the first opportunity?

Nobody promotes a culture of disrespect towards Law Enforcement more than the President himself, now individual cops haven’t covered themselves in glory either.

Krasner is known as a reformist who goes after corrupt cops and did so as a criminal attorney as well. I think what McSwain is doing here is straw-manning things Krasner might have said about individual cops and misleadingly framing it to sound like he said it about all police. That’s my guess, without knowing for sure. And I’ll bet he had this statement written up and ready for the first opportunity. He’s not stupid. If I call one cop racist, a second corrupt, and compare a third to a war criminal, you could say “Matt routinely calls police yadda yadda yadda.” It’s a vagueness in the way the language handles collective nouns, obviously.

I encourage all of us and friends to call this office and the DOJ to ask why this US attny is using the DOJ Easter District of PA website to launch personal attacks on other elected law enforcement officials?

Since criminals have been shooting it out with cops to avoid arrest since the 19th century, I think you are a little off the mark here, Sir.

This Bump surrogate disrespects law enforcement and then blames law enforcement for his disrespect.

Another one of Trump’s DOJ’s lackeys.
Never underestimate the desperation of this administration to further divide the largest city of a state in play in the impending election year.
Cynical opportunism at its worst, no different than crapping on Dayton or El Paso to gin up the rural white base. Trump’s criminal cartel would like nothing better than to pull in Pennsylvania’s electoral votes again.

It’s like, on November 10th 2016, you knew it was going to be horrible.
And then in February 2017, you really felt that America was doomed, and that all decency and logic had fled the body politic.
Then in March, 2017, you felt that the country was on the brink of a time of fetid corruption and destruction of the safe-guarding laws and norms that you grew up with.
Then in April 2017 it really started to feel like the nightmare had gone on long enough.
Then in May 2017 you thought it couldn’t get any worse. Then in June 2017…
