Trump Appears Injured After Loud Sounds At Campaign Rally In Pennsylvania

Yup, I’m aware. And that’s because the people who tout “Good Guys With Guns” as a solution are well aware that it’s an absurd idea that cannot possibly work.

If they really believed it, they’d put their money where their mouth is, demanding that all attendees come armed, and providing loaded firearms to attendees who forget theirs at home. Like how fancy restaurants sometimes provide a jacket and tie to patrons who don’t have them.

When the chips are down, pro-gun-violence lunatics don’t believe their own dogma. This is typical of Republicans, because modern “conservatism” is just a grab-bag of debunked urban legends and praise for self-dealing. Not even 24 hours later and the hucksters are peddling souvenirs! Imagine if they were around at the time of the Crucifixion!

Well, sorry for the confusion I guess. You are right. I like dogs and cats and all sorts of critters. I have a friend who is a reptile specialist and has a big heart for snakes of all sorts. He even has a desert tortoise living in his yard. It used to be his folks tortoise. It’s pushing 80 years old but keeps motoring along.
Yup, I like critters. And I go on the war path when I hear of abuse.

Bothsides!

Representative Dan Meuser, Republican of Pennsylvania, was at Saturday’s rally in Butler. He said he has held several conversations with Democratic colleagues since the shooting, discussing how to lower the overall temperature of political rhetoric. “We’ve got to do everything we can to have more professional discourse,” he said in an interview. “Not this crazy attacking each other and making things personal.”

The Thomas Crooks on ActBlue’s records is not the 69-year old. It’s the shooter. Address lines up with voting reg:

EDIT TO ADD: Shooter’s father is name Matthew, 53 years old. Makes it unlikely the 69-year old is a grandfather living at the same address.

You can be hit by a shard of glass on 5th Ave and get away with it. Even use it as a campaign weapon.

Maybe it was after all.

I hate to quote myself, but… keep reading.

The document inquiry to the FEC, btw, is a h/t to the friend over at Time.

One officer climbed to the roof and encountered Crooks, who pointed his rifle at the officer. The officer retreated down the ladder and Crooks quickly took a shot toward former President Donald Trump, and that’s when the U.S. Secret Service counter snipers shot him, said the officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.
… … … … …
This quote from the article intimates a single shot by Crooks. How then was one man killed and two others injured by separate bullets? In a cnn video yesterday I counted at least 12 shots. Likely some were law enforcement shots but the shooter got off 4 that hit people at least

The quote is sloppy. Should read ‘Crooks quickly took a series of shots toward former President Donald Trump’, but the AP’s stringer there isn’t bothering to remember Trump wasn’t the only one who got hit, so isn’t bothering to include the ‘yeah, he must have fired more than once’ when the wording they’re being given is amost certainly along the lines of ‘The shooter then fired in the direction of the former President’ without specifying how many times, cuz duh, obviously he shot more than once.

Sorry. I didn’t see your post. I was busy reading and posting on another thread.

I just wanted to come back and correct any misinformation.

Basically, I don’t know what the hell is true and what’s not true today.

Yup! Don’t worry, @kelaine, I’ll do my best to drop in updates and clarifications as I get them.

Me either. Remember… it’s all trump related and that means bets are off assuming anything is reality based

Assuming MSW is accurate (I have no reason to doubt her,) I got suckered by this and posted misleading material. My apologies to anyone whom I encouraged to buy into it.

No worries from me.
I look at all this as “trump related” meaning fact based reality we grew up with does not apply. It’s all free form “make it up as you go”
You are not at all at fault. Heck, I got pulled in. It is my fault for not waiting to see how this shakes out. I assumed there was a donation to Act Blue by an older gent. Fact is apparently otherwise.

Yes, that’s the worst part. What they’re calling our inflammatory “rhetoric” is literally discussing/reporting on things Trump actually does, has done, says, and says he will do (or wants to). In other words, mentioning the actual facts about Trump is now falsely equated with the insane violent rhetoric – actual rhetoric – Team Red’s been engaging in for years. But lots more, and more freely, since Trump arrived on the scene.

Just saw a news-aggregator link to a Newsweek bit saying Stephen King had said something about the shooting that “sparked outrage,” so I looked. What he’d said was just that the shooter used an AR-15, which is a kind of gun that Republicans and Trump himself want to protect access to. That’s it, that’s all he said. Outrage??? Really??? “You’re talking about what we actually do and say again!!! Stop with your violent rhetoric, it’s an outrage!” Sigh.
