The Trump administration wasted no time appealing a district judge’s Thursday night order temporarily keeping it from enforcing an executive order that would give the federal government unprecedented control over vote-by-mail. The government appealed the order to the First Circuit Court of Appeals Friday afternoon.  The recent flurry of litigation is all heading to one…

Can the appeals court treat this like it’s Trump vs. US and decide it in time for Christmas?

Whaddaya think…5-4 denying the regime’s appeal? Much closer than the 9-0 it should be?

Trump needs to hurry his appeal to the Supreme Court. That way they can rule in His favor on the motion, then deny every other appeal as being “Too close to the election and we sure wouldn’t want to affect it, nosiree. Just calling balls and strikes we are.”

We are all pointing to Trump as the bad actor here but I think we have to add to that the Federalist Society (the people who pay the Supreme Court) and the Heritage Foundation (the organizer of Project 2025.) are the are the long term beneficiaries of restricting black and brown people (and elderly poor) from voting.

That’s been his tactic his entire miserable life. What’s amazing is that he has never been declared a “vexatious litigant.”

Mr. 32% approval (and falling) is certainly confident that all the good little GOP voters he’s been screwing over for the last two years are going to show in November.

I’m not sure that’s a safe bet any more.

A craven supreme court is only too obviously playing Trump’s game. Are they afraid of the lunatic? It doesn’t matter because the fascist six do what they’re told.

As I mentioned above they are the employees of the Federalist Society and they do what they are paid to do. So ask the Federalist Society why they are playing this game for Trump. I bet you it is because they believe they benefit if only the right white people are permitted to vote.

Sure would be a hoot if the SCOTUS SIX allowed Pedolph’s unconstitutional rewriting of the Constitution only to discover the overwhelming majority of people who were able to jump through his “hoops” were Democrats and the entirety of the federal government’s Republican cancer was wholly excised in one fell swoop. Oops.

Given his knack for destroying everything he’s ever laid tiny little bruised hands on, it’s not as farfetched an outcome as it sounds. Who would he appeal to then?

Unintended consequences can be a harsh Natalie mistress sometimes.

States like Colorado, Washington, and Utah* that vote only by mail (I am sure there others) and that currently have no in person voting would be basically unable to have an election if trump gets his way. From their seat in the ivory tower, the SupCt loves to bloviate about speculative harms and disputes not being justiciable, but the inability to completely restructure how elections are run in many states is not a speculative impossibility.

*The Utah Lt. Gov Dierdre Henderson (R) has been bravely refusing to turn over the voter lists and citizenship data demanded by the tramp administration. The Utah Lt. Gov is currently a party in a lawsuit fighting the tramp admin’s effort to take election administration authority from the states. I am sure that Dierdre Henderson see eye to eye on almost no issue, but I am with her on this.
