Why do I feel the need to review the “Beer Hall Putsch” to compare Trump’s actions on 1/6/2020 with that guy?

Well, there goes any suggestion that the violence was spontaneous and unplanned. T rumpp wanted to be with those insurrectionists during their riot. All planned, in advance. T rumpp had to be talked out of participating.

I suspect that eventually we will learn that trump coordinated with one or more of the right wing groups (3%ers, Proud Boys or Oath Keepers) and wanted to hang with his boys as they lynched Pence and stopped certification of the election such that he could name himself dictator for life…Sounds far fetched but I think that’s what trump was after.

darrtown you may well be right, and someone in the Proud Boys and / or Oathkeepers may flip on Trump and spill his guts on all the gory details, but there are still a lot of people in the media and in the body politic who are NOT Trumpers, but who are resisting the acknowledgment the Trump is a thug and that he must be held to account, as if the Presidency conveys some special status like being born a Windsor or a Hollenzoeller.
It makes no sense to me, but the “adults” in this country need to grow a pair and act on the courage of their convictions and apply the rule of law. I am not yet convinced we have it in us as a society to admit that we made a HUGE mistake in letting this bastard anywhere near the White House. And now many of our fellow citizens want to cover our collective mistake up, thinking it can’t happen again. Well, I have news for all of us - Trump is going to run for POTUS again in 2024, because he is bored at Mar-a-Lago and at the clubhouse, and wants the action and adoration of being POTUS. God help us if he wins another term. We need to make sure he is made ineligible for Federal office.
