President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are holding the upcoming Republican National Convention (RNC) hostage to force North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) to reopen his state enough to let the event space in Charlotte reach full capacity even during the COVID-19 outbreak.
I’m good with 50,000 people hanging out in an arena with trump.
But why wait for August? Heck, they can do that this weekend.
Maybe he can find a nice venue in Puerto Rico, where they love him, especially when he brings paper towels.
He demanded that Cooper “immediately” inform GOP conventiongoers as to whether the event, which is scheduled for August 24 – 27, will be “allowed to be fully occupied” at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center.
Wasn’t he just threatening to override Governors in terms of opening churches just a couple days ago? Yet he can’t force Governor Cooper to allow an unfettered RNC convention? Did someone show him a pictograph of the Constitution this fine weekend?

The governor is hereby commanded to spend less time worrying about the health of the peasants and more time satisfying His Majesty’s desires.

The virus, much like me personally, doesn’t give a shit about the RNC convention. Unlike me, however, the virus is dangerous and contagious. Hard to put it on a time frame. Especially when the federal government is AWOL.

The last thing Charlotte wants is whores from all over the country that have not been practicing social distancing to show up in mass to their city. And then there are the sexual workers that get attracted to these type of events.
Let them go to a red state and play Russian roulette with their voters. Alabama, West Virginia, Arkansas, Oklahoma? Dems. are gonna need some divine intervention to move the dial in the moran states. This could be the start.
Melania can fully sympathize with disappointment on a Donnie pullout.
Go to bat for the base, Ronna Romney McDaniel, demand that Cooper accede to their sensible “request.” Hell, maybe move it to a larger venue, if possible, and pack that puppy to the gills (after adding NO MASKS to the NO FIREARMS list, of course) with deep coughers and wheezing geezers.
Nice place you have there. Wouldn’t it be a shame if you lost a bunch of money because you didn’t heed our ‘reasonable’ request.

These pigs know full well that North Carolina needs the money the convention will bring in, all the states are hurting now. And Pence calls himself a Christian. Disgusting.
If I were Roy Cooper, though, I’d tell Trump to tell his story walking. I think North Carolina just may be blue enough to get behind that too. But if not, Cooper’s responsibility is to his people.
More likely they sat him down and explained the concept of ‘state’s rights,’ a cornerstone of the DIxiecrat movement from before the CIvil War. (ed.)
