It’s a good place to be gone from. My family is completely gone from those parts. Last time I was there was when I buried the remainder of my immediate relatives in the family plot. Although, of course, I have some fond memories of my earliest years, and the wonderful grandparents, uncles and aunts, some cousins, and the rich nature and all that I got to be part of.

I wonder what the reason was. Prosecution wasn’t opposing, so it might well have been that her handlers expected some kind of really bad own goal. Like making an argument that would benefit the prosecution on appeal, or doxxing a bunch of people and asserting that it was being done on TSF’s orders because he was still president. ?

Which as a farm kid I do not understand. Horses, the barn cat and our dogs were friends. I just do not understand him. His dishonesty, his lying, his vanity… all of it is repulsive to me and that’s before we get to his “politics”. It is hard to imagine someone worse than Nixon but that’s trump… easily

If she is truly inexperienced and in over her head…she will at least have learned that the obstructionist and apologist RW ecosphere (and of course, The Federalists) will inundate her with these amicus shenanigans. She has already larded the case with hearing after hearing over things most every other judge would rule quickly on without any need for a hearing.
She has already agreed to hear arguments from Meese and others. She is making so much more work for herself. She can string the case out forever, or tank it, without all the extra drama and danger of making a recusal/removal mistake.
ETA: I see @paulw had a similar thought while I was typing.
