President Donald Trump’s allies are reportedly on an organized mission to undermine journalists who provide the “negative” coverage of Trump that the President constantly complains about.
Several unnamed people “familiar with the operation” claimed to the Times that they had assembled such data on hundreds of journalists in their aggressive crusade against what Trump’s allies consider unflattering coverage of the President.
Extortion files – right out of the David Pecker/American Media playbook.
It’s never anything new with this crew, just warmed over over tripe from the Drumpf Organization.
Let’s be clear here…if Trump LIES 12k+ times, it is the journalist’s job to report those lies and call a spade a spade…that Trump lied again!
Putin or MBS or DearNKLeader has harmed or murdered journalists that they deem are against them - who are telling the truth about the atrocities & murders they commit and are doing their jobs. AND Trump/RepubliCONS really envy them!
Journalists aren’t elected officials.
They are expected to have a range of backgrounds. Their private lives generally are irrelevant to what they do.
I’m sure any ‘investigation’ into individuals’ backgrounds will be fair and balanced. I can’t wait to read about Hannity.
I wish they would structure articles like this better. There’s a brief mention that this group investigating journalists and their families might be doing it to intimidate journalists, but then the first several sources are someone involved with the group, the White House, Trump, and Sam Nunberg. Only after they weigh in do you get a quote from a journalist pointing out how harmful and spiteful the group is. By then the sympathetic quotes about the group have essentially established the default position of the article.
Putting a critical quote earlier in the article would have at least provided readers with short attention spans with a solid retort to establish that the group’s actions aren’t journalism and are likely meant to suppress the press. Without that, this article is like a horse head in journalists’ beds.
This is one way for the press to respond. The other way is to stop covering his every utterance, rallies, and speeches. Trump depends on the press and loves any attention they give him. Stop giving him so much.
