If Trump wins, there’s a very good chance he will have his DoJ arrest Democratic politicians and throw them in jail based on nothing. Schiff and Pelosi might go first, but they won’t be the last. If he loses, Republicans and MAGA supporters will continue to go after the same people, threatening or committing violent acts. We’re going to be stuck with them for a while unfortunately, the awfulness with be Trump’s legacy.

If Kamala Harris gets to be dictator for a day, which Trump is proposing that all presidents get to do on their first day of office, I hope she uses that power to make it unlawful to play that song, even to hum a few bars. Just saying, it would make the world a better place

I think we all need to keep a list of Republicans like Younkin who have refused to acknowledge what Trump has said he is going to do to his political enemies, not to sic the government on them but to go after them at the ballot box and make sure they are removed from public life.
If you are going to be a politician you first need a spine and an understanding that your duty is to America not your party or the oligarchs that own it.

Belatedly came across Adam Gopnik’s October 21 New Yorker piece “As Bad As All That: Donald Trump and the Unmaking of America” The lede of one paragraph: “What any plausible explanation must confront is that Donald Trump is a distinctively vile human being and a spectacularly malignant political actor.” Should be his fucking epitaph.
