Trump Administration Takes Defiance In Abrego Garcia Case To A New Level

Originally published at: Trump Administration Takes Defiance In Abrego Garcia Case To A New Level - TPM – Talking Points Memo

The Trump administration is at it again. In its ongoing stonewalling of the district court judge overseeing the case of the mistakenly deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Trump DOJ is now slow-rolling discovery by insisting on a tortured reading of court orders in the case, including from the Supreme Court. In insisting on an interpretation…

It’s like they are trying to get the judge to rule them in contempt. Really, the judge should do so if they continue to block any efforts to get to the bottom of things, and refer them to the Bar for disciplinary action. This kind of behavior by lawyers requires sanctions, and possibly the loss of their license to practice law, because it’s not what you want any lawyers to think they can do no matter who their client is.

Gotta be Pee Wee German who is driving this adolescent show of contempt and defiance. A small man with big hate.

It seems that every attempt by judges to provide this administration a little latitude, some room to respond in a less confrontational manner, is apparently taken as a sign of weakness leading to yet more intransigence.

It’s like facing off a juvenile gang except the danger is a lot bigger than a rumble.

This is clearly Stephen Miller’s bully-boy behavior at play in the world of immigration malfeasance and unConstitutional foolishness. He knows how to channel Trump’s worst excesses and so hide behind Trump’s big fat bloomers. Time for a Federal judge to hold Miller in contempt and interrogate him under oath.

The next time she gets bullshit from an Administration lawyer in her courtroom, she needs to hold him in contempt and have him locked up right there and then.

Okay. Next election must include Reading Comprehension.

Seriously, this is a government takeover by bad people who don’t want to read or follow American law and tradition.

100%. This has his fingerprints all over it.

And the lawyers themselves are walking their way into sanctions and contempt through all this open defiance.

Two whole hours of deliberation. Which presumably included electing a foreperson and other basic figuring-out tasks.

Yeah, doesn’t sound like it was a particularly tough call. Sorry, Sarah. (Not really.)

95% confident that the Trumpistas are overplaying their hand in a way that is likely fatal for their whole deportation strategy.

My only worry is that I was also 95% certain Trump could never bear Clinton…

Clinton won the popular vote. The Electoral College was the problem.

It is well past time for some of these attorneys to be locked up.

Everyone, including the government and their attorneys, knows exactly what is happening here.

Everyone.

Time to get the US Marshals arresting people.

Now.
