Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, a member of the White House coronavirus taskforce, emphasized the need for mitigation to combat the pandemic in the US.
Wolf, speaking to the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee on Wednesday, said he wanted to âemphasize some very basic things, and that is mitigation works, so weâre not going to test our way out of this." He added that washing your hands, not touching your face and ensuring social distancing are key.
Wolf said the department is urging the preservation of personal protection equipment so that doctors hospitals and nursing homes can make them last longer than that one time.
âInstead of having that gown or that mask or this glove, being a 70 cent pair of gloves, we need them to be a $100 pair of gloves and we need those facilities to start treating those gloves or those masks or those respirators much, much differently,â Wolf said.
An internal memorandum written by U.S. officials and addressed to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warns that cutting funding to the World Health Organization, as President Donald Trump said he would do Tuesday, would erode Americaâs global standing, threaten U.S. lives and hobble global efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
The memo, which was prepared before Trumpâs Rose Garden announcement, was written by officials within the State Departmentâs Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and includes a detailed list of how U.S. funding to the WHO helps countries in the Middle East control the pandemic.
Toadglans doesnât give a damn.
None of this matters to Toadglans.
Heâs not interested in solving problems. Heâs interested in blaming others for these problems.
That is his entire pResiduncy in a nutshell.
The only way that people like this learn is to force them to perform the work at their own peril. Force the jerk to be radiation-worker certified in a radioactive environment or a pandemic first-responder against Ebola or COVID-19, and he would understand why he doesnât reuse PPE.
The miners that worked beneath Chernobyl to halt the disaster knew they were sacrificing their lives because they had no PPE. Dirty/failing PPE is useless. Wolf is an ignorant tool who apparently doesnât mind wasting other peopleâs lives.
Pausing funding to the organization, the memo said, âwill impact over $50 million in U.S. assistance planned to help host governments address urgent needs and risks undermining the U.S. narrative of a long-standing health leader, ceding ground to the (Peopleâs Republic of China).â
I just feel like screaming⌠about 10 times a day. But itâs like driving by a collision, itâs so hard to not keep looking, even though it constantly makes me sick to my stomach.
âŚerode Americaâs global standing, threaten U.S. lives and hobble global efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Recall Trumpâs comments in 9/11?
â40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest â and then, when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest,â Trump said in the WWOR interview. âAnd now itâs the tallest.â
Trumpâs gut reaction to the horror of 9/11 is very telling!
Trump floated the idea of herd immunity despite the forecast of more than 1M American deathsâŚ
As for global standingâŚTrump only cares about his strong man standing with the dictators and murderers!
Trump does NOT give any effing sh*t about anything in these trying and troubling timesâŚexcept what is good for Trump!
