So Marimar Martinez and has had to retain counsel in order to defend herself against what seems to have been a politically motivated prosecution. Dana Briggs has had to retain counsel to defend himself against a felony assault charge for brushing his hand against an officer. Evidently several other protesters have either had to retain counsel or were threatened with prosecution before the DoJ realized what a massive pile they were about to explode on themselves.
At the very least, the DoJ should pay the legal fees for these people. In a just world it would be much more signicant repercussions.

That’s what happens when the grand juries can’t even support the prosecutions’ theories and return a no-judgement.
Embarrassment after embarrassment.
But it hasn’t stopped the raids. And those need to stop, post-haste.

Let Bovino and all the right-wing ICE hires work off the monetary damages by pulling weeds alongside the highway in Louisiana in the summer. And make them wear full battle-rattle, too, since they want to cosplay as soldiers so badly.

The litmus test for any Dem politician running to succeed Trump will need to address 1) America’s unconditional support of Israel and 2) Putting Americans who committed these crimes while terrorizing American cities on trial. This includes DHS, ICE anyone connected to DODGE as well as all the leadership such as Miller, Noem, Musk, Patel and all the other criminals. There also needs to be discussion about how they can all be tried on state charges where they can not receive a presidential pardon. Bonus points if we can have a discussion about recovering some of the money the government and its employees lost because of DODGE buffoonery directly from Elon Musk and also investigate what he did with the personal data he illegally harvested from the government agencies on every American citizen.

If I follow the Marimar Martinez story correctly, she was shot by a federal agent, but there are no charges against her. Thus, she was shot without justification. Seems quite ripe for a massive lawsuit against the government.

The real reason they were dropped:
The dismissals come after CBP commander and mass deportation hype man Greg Bovino left Chicago for an operation in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bovino was accused multiple times of violating a court order barring him and other federal officials from using tear gas unless absolutely necessary; Briggs had asked for him to testify in his case.
Putting Bovino in front of a Court is a guarantee of him perjuring himself.
This should be the protestor defense strategy going forward - get a subpoena for Bovino to provide a deposition. Do enough of that and he’ll flee to avoid spending time perjuring himself in Court.

In the case of Marimar Martinez, the 30-year old Chicagoan shot five times in October by a Border Patrol officer, DHS officials accused her of being part of a convoy of “10 cars” that “rammed” and “boxed” agents in. Those allegations were contradicted by an affidavit filed by federal agents in the case and evidence that was introduced later.
If a cop in your community had shot somebody multiple times relying on a false report to establish probable cause I suspect the officer would be in serious legal trouble and your community would be seeking to settle.

We lost not only taxpayer money, we lost the knowledge and experience of so many government workers who were purged, or left because of the chaos and animus that Musk and Trump brought with them to our government. Those people are going to be hard to replace. We can tax some of the megabillionaires and get the money back. The workers took their expertise elsewhere.
