Trump administration officials and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) on Sunday came to President Trump’s defense amid backlash over his disparaging remarks toward fallen soldiers that were first reported in The Atlantic.
In 2009, a group led by Mnuchin bought California-based residential lender IndyMac, which had been in receivership by the FDIC and owned $23.5 billion in commercial loans, mortgages, and mortgage-backed securities. The purchase price was a $4.7 billion discount to its book value. Mnuchin’s investment group included George Soros… (Wikipedia)
If Mnuchin and/or DeWine weren’t on the trip to France with Trump, or they weren’t with him 24/7, then they cannot testify to what he said or did not say, it would be merely speculation (or, more likely, sycophancy). They would then be defending a known and documented liar. How will they defend themselves when this is proven true? Could it be that they are liars too?
Maybe, - maybe - if Rump hadn’t disparaged the Amer. military before this, reasonable people could give him the benefit of a doubt. Not now. Nope. That bridge was crossed and burned a while ago.
Oh, bitches, please! Every goddamned person on this earth with any sentience whatsoever - you know, the ones who don’t believe QAnon, FoxNews, Trump, and the GOP - knows that the Fat Ass motherfucker said exactly those words that are being reported, since they sound exactly the way he has sounded for over 40 tears. Bite me, you “losers”!
And oh, my! That Steve Mnuchin has done been hit hard with that Ugly Stick, hasn’t he?
The Reactionaries aren’t trying to mount a credible defense. They’re pulling in as many interested voices as possible hoping the sheer quantity of reported rebuttals will serve to overturn the evidence of first hand witnesses and the videotape.
They’re also assuming that the facts that they’re all partisans with an investment in the outcome of this crisis and that many of them serial liars won’t get added to the mix.
It’s an act of desperation that hinges on the presumption of unwarranted deference from a pliable media.
But, given that they haven’t been able to steal John Podesta’s e-mails again, this thin tea is all they’ve got.
DeWine suggested that sources should publicly come forward or else “it’s never going to have the credibility,”
If credible sources came forward and reaffirmed their words in public, DeWine,Trump, Mnuchin, and ever Republican in DC would immediately shit in their pants.
The last thing they want is indisputable verification of this story.
But when you have a guy who has lied in office over 20K times, I really don’t see how that many people are not going to believe the anonymous sources for this story. And Goldberg of “The Atlantic” says there’s lots more coming!
The sources should not come forward under a Reactionary administration: given this administration’s proven record of retaliation, that would simply be inviting misfortune.
