VERO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Bands of heavy rain from Isaias lashed Florida’s east coast Sunday, with the tropical storm strengthening slightly and forecast to be near hurricane strength by the time it reaches the Carolinas.
This doesn’t look as strong as it did last night. I seriously doubt this makes it to hurricane strength. This is the dress rehearsal. There will be more to come this season.
It’s not particularly kind to mention this to the voters of Florida and the southern east coast, but it is timely. Remember, "Elections have consequences."
The storm did not affect the successful return of two astronauts aboard the SpaceX Dragon capsule, which splashed down into calm waters in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola.
Wonder if they brought back the blueprints the aliens used to build the pyramids?
But it is trying to. Running out of space relative to the coast though. Note the storms are starting to develop around the center a bit more than previously.
I don’t want to mislead anyone here. This corner of the website—“New Stuff”—is not a resurrection of The Far Side daily cartoons. (Well, not exactly, anyway—like the proverbial tiger and its stripes, I’m pretty much stuck with my sense of humor. Aren’t we all?)
