You do get how elections work, right? That it wasnât the entire population of the state that elected Cotton, and that this isnât a product of the âArkansas mindâ as a whole? You might even consider that, besides white liberals like my friends back home, there are also black people in Arkansas, including the descendents of the people killed in the Elaine Massacre (one of whom is the federal judge in the district that includes Elaine) before you go stereotyping a whole state based on the political establishment that they are laboring under.
This kind of smug bullshit isnât just annoying, its strategically unhelpful. Grow up.

I donât want to sound like a run-of-the-mill conspiracy nut but investigators really need to compare the teeth marks on that tree to Huckleberryâs dental records. Maybe retrieve the dental floss from her garbage for DNA comparison. Just sayinâ.
ETA Hmm ⌠Iâm thinking an inspection of Tom Cottonâs travel records might also be in order.

My father was a 6 year old boy when the massacre occurred. Though he lived in northwest Arkansas on his grandfatherâs plantation, he heard what happened and was moved by this senseless slaughter. A dozen years later, he and a couple other young white men helped black and white sharecroppers move from the farms where they were enslaved (as sharecropping was just another form of slavery) to different farms in northwest AR and southeast MO where they could work as laborers. They used my great grandfatherâs farm trucks and wagons to move these people and their few possessions in the dead of night, often by moonlight.
They continued their night time liberations off and on until the mid-1930s after my great grandfatherâs bankruptcy resulted in the loss of the farm and equipment, including what my father used.
This was a hate crime. Some white cracker did not like the idea that someone had dredged up a part of the hateful past that afflicts every community in the South.
