I suspect there is a lot of screening. My male minority cousin tried to sign-up, he’s 65 and was disqualified as he is in CoV high risk group by age, despite the clamor for minority participants.

If Trump thinks blanketing the airwaves touting a miracle vaccine a few days before Election Day is going to win him votes, instead of arousing intense skepticism, he’s more demented than I already think he is.

Many times government officials have to juggle multiple projects, that juggling, which involves harmonizing numerous schedules, including production schedules and just plain old meetings, adds significant time to any process. In the case of a Covid 19 vaccine, if it is the number one, top priority that comes before all the rest, the regulators should be able to save significant time in the process without impacting safety and effectiveness. If that is what is meant by Operation Warp Speed then that is perfectly acceptable.
I guess what I am saying is bureaucracy is slow. A smart bureaucrat can speed it up without impacting safety. Speeding an activity up requires that we recognize that we are going to slow something else in the pipeline.

Frankly…any medical scientist/researcher who would come up with “Operation Warp Speed” for something this serious…is a hack.

There may already have been collateral damage to every vaccination program, even if Trumpp’s meddling doesn’t affect a covid-vaccine rollout. That has future health consequences for the nation.
If his meddling does result in rollout of a vaccine that hasn’t met the usual standards, the downsides grow.

I visited the doctor the other day and we discussed this. She said that the speed part is in the production. Companies are already producing the vaccine ( I said “on spec?” and she didn’t disagree) waiting for the FDA to look at the data. Ordinarily they wait until they have the ok, If it doesn’t get approved, they’ll discard it. I’m still not convinced that all of those safeguards will actually be in place, but at least now I know what the party line is.

There will be an announcement about a vaccine about a week before the election. It will be impossible to find any test data on it or anyone who has gotten it except the orange blob, who will claim he had it “weeks ago, maybe last week, or as I hear people are saying, recently.”
There won’t be any evidence of an actual vaccine other than whatever drivel runs out of Kayleigh’s mouth.
