hehe, no
O good riddance. Hooray!
Republicans in Missouri can’t stand each other any longer.
From disgusted former Senator John Danforth who mentored Hawley to the present GOP Governor Parsons who has alienated the entire suburban Boomer Generation vote in Missouri by withholding COVID vaccines from urban areas, the party has become a three ring circus.
Hawley is trying to position himself as “the intellectual heir of Trumpism.” How stupid does that sound? That makes no sense to even the heathen-forward MAGA while being a bridge too far for a corrupt opportunist like Blunt.
And then there is Revenge Porn King, ex-Governor Eric Grietens who is trying to resurrect his GOP career as I suppose the “immortal heir of Trumpism”? Remember him? He’s the guy who would not resign so the state GOP-controlled legislature started impeachment measures to push him out.
All that matters any longer is that a Republican candidate is a staunch white supremacists. It’s a fitting definition for a political party which no longer wants to state their “principles” in a party platform and has no credibility as being Pro Life, Law and Order or Family Values Americans.
I even question whether they can call themselves “conservatives.” Their arguments for being strict constructionists of the Constitution no longer correlate with their actions. 1/6/21 now defines them as Red Russians. Let the Trump “revolution” continue to die of its own hypocrisy and corruption.
Liberals now have a great chance of reestablishing their definition as the true protectors of the working class, democracy and Constitution. Several likable, mainstream Democratic candidates have already come forward willing and ready to give voters a clear choice in 2022 for Blunt’s senate seat. The GOP only has severely tarnished and compromised front runners for their primary.
Meh, she’s useless.
Watch her on Scarborough, she has no vision or drive or really, anything to offer.
I really think that the Dems must do better, someone like her does nothing to improve anything. I’m quite tired of empty suits, left or right. Sure the lefty empty is a caucus vote, but that’s it. I want more than that, don’t you? I want someone who actually does things and pushes the debate, pushes the message.
That COVID-19 Relief bill is all because of Democrats, Republicans voted against $1400 checks for everyone, no additional unemployment compensation for everyone, no money to help states give out shots, no money to help schools re-open, no money to help struggling small businesses and struggling renters and property owners stay out of bankruptcy and living on the streets.
I repeat, Republicans voted against $1400 checks for everyone, no additional unemployment compensation for everyone, no money to help states give out shots, no money to help schools re-open, no money to help struggling small businesses and struggling renters and property owners stay out of bankruptcy and living on the streets.

I want a candidate who runs on that and makes that argument for the voters. They might be surprised at how many votes that garners from people across a state.
IT sounds like a promising situation. Thanks for laying it out.
Rather than being cynical about the voters of Missouri, I’m going to hope we can win some hearts and minds and start dislodging the useless awful GOP.
Be very afraid. That’s 5 seats where it is entirely possible we’ll end up with a young angry white nationalist lunatic replacing an old tired white nationalist lunatic. And trust me, the younger ones we have coming at us are going to be far FAR worse and far FAR angrier.
“the intellectual heir of Trumpism.”
Gotta laugh at that, heir to a void!
We also need younger candidates. Senior citizens make up over half of Congress, but only 20% of the population. From where will our leadership come if they all die off in ten years?
She is not. At all. She stated as much on twitter within an hour or so of his announcement. I’m paraphrasing, but the gist of her tweet was, “thanks, but I like being happy.”
All I can say is, boring. I can’t get worked up over a Royal shitshow of the overly privileged whining about their miserable lives.
Truly. Nobody cares. The “story”, as it were, that I was pointing out is the way it is and has all been used by Faux News as a white nationalist cultural resentment propaganda rallying point…like Kaepernick, et al.
Fine…then let’s do likewise to the entire police force…including polygraphing them for racist beliefs and white extremist connections…
How kind and considerate of the goobers. Voting for a only goober is allowed in their world/ Anything else is unAmurican…
Being in the minority is not the problem. They are happy to collect a check for doing nothing. It has more to do with the fact they are a dying party and no one wants to be the last corpse standing.
There’s a scotch bottle that these guys pass around. John Boehner had it at one point, passed it to Paul Ryan, you understand. Each time a moderate Republican bails on their party, they open the bottle, drink a shot, then give it to the next most-moderate Republican that remains.
It’s about two-thirds empty.
Anyone care to guess who’s taking the next drink?
Rumor has it – Macallan 18.
The rest of the story:
From the outside looking in, it has appeared to me that “leader” McConnell has been essentially AWOL in the Senate recently. Various other Reps have been taking on the lead in opposing Dem legislation (and fucking it up).
I wonder if maybe it’s less fun to be Minority Leader, and the fight has gone out of the old boy.
What is a “plugged in Republican”?
A resistor?
