Despite the majority of Republicans voting against his censure, Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) is reportedly, at minimum, annoying top Republicans, who supposedly complain that the Arizona congressman has “lost it.”
annoying top Republicans, who supposedly complain that the Arizona congressman has “lost it.”
The intended audience for this deliberately leaked message is the donor class. No money, no runney in 2022. This is why I think Gosar will be primaried in 2022.
Whatever the excuse might be, Republican leadership can only follow the stupid until a majority of the active electorate has had enough and punishes stupid for being, well, stupid. Our for-profit media ecosystem is constructed in a manner that assures this is both a much longer process and a more painful one than it should be.
The real question is: WHO is in control, the real leadership, of the Republican Party and what this article says to me, GOSAR and others who like Gosar are the most deplorable.
That is whereas Gosar and the other deplorables are not afraid to say any manner of outrageous things about anyone including other Republicans, the so called "leadership of the Republican Party cannot say anything critical of Gosar or other deplorables for fear of being cast out of the Party.
What I think this really comes down to is a comment from the book Dune, “the power to destroy a thing gives you total control over that thing”.
Currently, the deplorables have total control over the Republican Party because they have the power to destroy the GOP. I mean in regard to the leadership, how many rank Republicans, pun intended, really benefit let alone care about tax cuts for billionaires?
What today’s rank Republicans do care about is White supremacy and privilege. Therefore, for rank Republicans, leaving the Party would actually benefit them economically and they are all not, in fact mostly not, to stupid to realize it.
So America’s forecast is cloudy with a chance of death threats. How did this become a new norm? I realize that there are too many to count but law enforcement has to investigate and prosecute those who are identifiable to make an example of them. We cannot sit back and accept this especially when it makes our lawmakers afraid to do what they know is right because they and their families are threatened. At this writing, we have teachers, nurses, doctors, school board members, election workers, elected officials and others that we don’t know about, yet, receiving relentless death threats. We are losing our way of life to anonymous, domestic terrorists as the good people decide that the risk is not worth it and quit or stay home. Where are the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI ? We, as a nation, have tragically become inured to daily shootings. Now, are we not going to respond to death threats?
