Remember when election workers were threatened in 2016? Of course not. That was pre-Cheetolini. The closest thing to it we had was the Brooks Brothers riot in Tallahassee in 2000.
This is just another example how much damage he’s done in a half-dozen years. It’s mind-boggling. And it’s only getting worse. Sad. Very, very sad. And enraging.

Why not just arrest the fuckwit who made the threat? Even if you release him a day or two later, threat is neutralized and some deterrence to others applied.
ETA: I can see that if the threat were made on election day, it might not be logistically possible to get a warrant, serve the warrant on the SM company, and receive the identifying info all in just a few hours. I do hope there were eventual consequences to the fuckwit.

One other thing. Aside from the four or five items that the House under Nancy HAS to pass in the Lame Duck session, after that we have got to be moving away from McCarthy and the Crazies and toward the members of the House who are interested in working together across party lines.

I am aware that McCarthy (and whomever in the Facsist GQP who might be elected Speaker) has a ton of control dealing with Congressmen and women and their actions…I am, rather, asserting that sustained, cooperative contact among equals is a powerful phenomenon.
It helped many members of the Armed Forces who were thrust into a racially integrated Military on Truman’s orders

Lotta really stupid behavior around Zaporizhzhia nuke plant.with big guns… Knock out the diesel generators and part of Ukraine and Russia will turn into a “no go” zone. Stupidity caused the Chernobyl disaster but for a different reason but radiation does not care. Stop cooling the 6 large reactors (they do not hafta be running to need cooling) and the waste ponds and guess what will happen? Melt down and possibly really really nasty radioactive explosions sending deadly poison for miles and miles on the wind that flows eastward into Russia.

At the beginning of this war the Russians took over Chernobyl plant. Near by is the “red forest” the most radioactive place on earth. Signs blare the danger of going there, and Russian conscripts ignored the warnings and dug trenches and slept in the dirt. They were evacuated to Belarus where they died. They said they’d never heard of the Chernobyl disaster of 1986. Russians do not have a great record in this regard. In 1957 there was another fuck up in the southern Ural mountains where plutonium rods were buried too close to each other…BOOM!! 60,000 square miles contaminated. Luckily not many folks live in that area.

A team of independent inspectors from the UN’s nuclear watchdog on Monday reported “no immediate nuclear safety or security concerns” at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant after shelling over the weekend, according to an official statement.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi in a statement said the team assessed the damage to the site Monday and concluded that “despite the severity of the shelling – key equipment remained intact and there were no immediate nuclear safety or security concerns."
All six reactors at Europe’s largest nuclear power station are “stable” and the team confirmed the integrity of fuel and radioactive waste in their storage facilities, the statement continues.
However, “widespread damage” was still observed at the site, it said, which maintenance staff have already begun to repair. Grossi described the damage as “a major cause of concern as it clearly demonstrates the sheer intensity of the attacks.”

Though Trump is no Robespierre, he saw how to steal the fealty of the mob enraged by GOP “red meat” politics and gave them a seat at the table. If he can’t get over his own butthurt (and he can’t), he is liable to meet a similar fate.
In the meantime, a lot of people like Mr. Gates here are going to have to face/hide from the Terror mob until it eats itself from the inside.
