Top GOPer Swears To Make Biden ‘Half-Term President’ In Echo Of McConnell’s Infamous Obama Vow

Pelosi lied to them, told them it was AntiFa outside the doors, that’s why he was helping to barricade them.

Had he known it was just tourists, he’d have opened the doors himself to let them in.

No, they’re not.

Trump was just an expression of what Republicans want.

The party is exactly what its members want it to be.
They like the direction the party is going—and they want more of it.

Trump is despicable, repellent, and venal—in addition to being stupid, vindictive, and bed-bug crazy.

But he is what the GQP chose—because that is what the GQP is.

Born and raised in Wyoming. Lived here for 69 years (minus a 20 year stint as a Naval Officer). The Republican party in Wyoming is just plain embarrassing. Even the rightwingers are not far enough to the right for the party base here. Really sad for a state that used to be governed by moderate Republicans AND Democrats. No more - I believe we have the most Republican legislature in the U.S. (percentage wise).

They tried funding the war with bonds, but it didn’t work.

Yeah, this makes all kinds of sense. Barrasso needs to be stomped on like a roach.

Because it went so well when McConnell said it…

Sen. Barrasso, need I remind you that the American people make that decision by their votes, not by your declaration. On the subject of voting, suppression of votes, or an attempt to not count votes, is tyranny. The Republican Party has become the party of tyranny.

He, MTG, Biggs, Boebert, and et al all could of rushed the doors and gotten out if they wanted to.

Sen Barrasso, you keep using that word. I don’t think that word means what you’re trying to convince people that it means.

The GQP is a party of nihilists. No agenda, no plan, just obstructionism for the sake of obstructionism.

Correct. People who prove their value by being an obstacle.

No, and that’s pretty much definitional at this point.

He is all for it.

My goodness! First Oregon state Rs, and now Ohio Rs. How many more do we need for it to officially become a trend?

I’d never heard of the emBarrasso that is BarrAsso’ before now.

How does a third highest ranking Rethugliklan in the U.S. Senate remain so anonymous for so long? I felt blessed not knowing of him. I’m sure others feel even more blessed, thankful even — they’re are not embarazada with his child.

That would explain “making sure they no longer have House, Senate, White House…” though an equally plausible explanation is that this guy is just that stupid.

I would like to know just how he will force a half term president. (I need a laugh)

This.

I regard the Senate as an egregious fundamental architectural failing of the US system of government. It allows a minority to dominate the majority, and so many Americans see this as a “cooling the teacup” feature, not the fundamental flaw that it is.

Among other things, it has allowed the establishment of the Two Party system that locks out a wider range of views, so I’ve always been surprised when folks react poorly to a suggestion that we’d be better served by a parliamentary style system that encourages minority coalitions.

I do hope to one day see the National Popular Vote Interstate Pact enacted, but that just helps rebalance the Presidency. I think it’ll be our grand kids who might one day get around to fixing the Senate…
