The House Oversight Committee on Sunday demanded that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testify at an “urgent” congressional hearing on Aug. 24 in light of growing concerns that cutting funding to the U.S. Postal Service will hamper mail-in voting in the November election.

While DeJoy can choose not to testify or can even ignore a subpoena, he should know the American people are closely watching. Any refusal to testify forthrightly, honestly, and directly, is a slap not at Democrats, but at the American people.
It would mean he doesn’t care as Americans die from a lack of insulin, that he doesn’t care as Americans get billed late fees because their checks aren’t delivered on time. It would reveal him to be heartless and uncaring, and only concerned about serving Donald Trump instead of the People.
There is enormous pressure for him to testify. Frankly, I’d be surprised if he didn’t. But, then again, I shouldn’t underestimate their stupidity.
Where can Nancy locate a nice oubliette? Something tasteful, not too expensive.
Don’t “demand,” Reps. Subpoena the Mofo. Then if he doesn’t appear, arrest him. Stop playing footsies with these bastards.
