If this is true - that Nunes used House funds to take trips, with House employees to Europe, to meet with a Russian agent (which the former prosecutor is alleged to be) so as to dig up dirt on an American citizen for political purposes, it violates all kinds of laws and statutes. Its is certainly a hatch act violation, perhaps constitutes felony misuse/theft of congressional funds, and is likely conspiracy about a half dozen other crimes.
The reality is that if the Democrats can get a candidate who does not act like the US’s version of Jeremy Corbyn (“I’m going to spend $30T which I raise with taxes and make you get your health care from the government, with everyone getting exactly the same health care, you can only get what the government will give you” or “I am a socialist”) and if they are willing to play hard ball with the DOJ, lots of these folks (Pompeo, Mulvaney, Nunes) are going to end up in jail.
But gotta win in 2020…
