I think Biden should be calm and clear, but no knives. If he’s going to show anger at all or indignation at all, I think it should be connected to being protective of his son. The victimization that this represents, to both Biden and his family, is something that can speak to a lot of people. Much more than playing the heavy would.
Which is not to say Biden should play the victim. That is always nauseating. What I mean is that he should simply be honest and human in this. That will benefit him most. Oh, and drum up some of the wit that he really does have. The worst for Trump will be to make a joke of him.

I tried to watch a bit of MSNBC and Andrea Mitchell a while ago. Schiff was calm and very precise in detailing the lawlessness of tRump & Co. I had to turn it off when Lindsey Graham came on & tried to resuscitate the already disproven Hunter Biden allegations and VP Biden’s work in concert with our fricking allies to get a corrupt Ukrainian minister dismissed.
Yes, the tRump cancer is Stage IV in the gop and I hope it’s terminal. But is it at all possible there are enough sane law abiding conservatives that a new center-right political party can emerge from this carcass of the GOP? Or are we looking at the Matt Gaetz Louie Gomert types as the new leaders of a hollowed out tRumpista party?

Absolutely. And I read he did very well out in Detroit with the UAW strikers. I think I remember you saying that it’s less his age that’s tripping him up in the debates than that the debate form is not something he’s good at, not somewhere he can shine and you seem to have been right. He was apparently in top form out in Detroit, not doddering or lost in the weeds at all, and I was glad to read it.
